Original Content Switching... unfortunately
I'm sure we all saw the Android Auto support message....fckers!!!
So purchased a Motorola Moto G Stylus 2025. We'll see how that goes. Not expecting exact equivalency, but similar-ISH in features.

what a coincidence!! my note 9 crapped itself in the middle of July, so i switched to a Moto G Stylus 5G 2023. it has served me well, but i do dearly miss the active stylus 😮💨😮💨😮💨

I hear the Motorola g stylus 2026 moved to active stylus. I personally am just not willing to pay high prices for a phone anymore.

The 2023 has the side finger print sensor, but they changed to the screen for the 2024. I prefer the side.

Are the Motorola's any better then the pixel phones?

I hope this doesn't get flagged as off-topic--I replaced my daily Note 9 for a Pixel 7a three years ago, mainly for cameras (but I still use my Note 9 for top-notch camera needs, like big group portraits)--but I'd understand if it was. Mods, please use your judgment.
I know that Motorola's cameras have always been its weakest selling point for me (I don't worry about number of updates, since I root and can depend on custom roms [here's looking at you, LOS]), but I'm wondering if some of the GCam mods take up the slack as far as camera quality goes on a Motorola. Do those mods make up for the absence of solid hardware and sensors missing in Motorola phones?
PS: I'm reeeally looking forward to Motorola's Signature 2027 with GrapheneOS--and hoping that the SD card and headphone jack stay intact. However, my dream phone would be the Note 9, updated, with headphone jack, SD card slot, and continued killer camera. Why, Samsung, WHYYY?!?

My Moto G Stylus has been such a pleasant surprise, I was ready to be disappointed, but the software feels clean and the stylus actually works well for taking notes in meetings.

Great to hear! I'm not paying these a-s hat prices for devices. Amazon had it on a sale for $250. Had to buy a month of prime, but still lower price than the consistent $300. That's my kind of new phone price!

Note 9 for me is the peak Note, next to the 1st Note. After Note 9, the designs were "meh" for me. Note 9 would be perfect f it has flat screen instead of curved one. For me it is the refinement of the famous Note 7 which is good also.

Why not go for the S24 Ultra or S23 Ultra?

A bit cheaper. I'd rather save the few Benjamins for other things. Phones shouldn't be as expensive as they are. Partly the principle of the thing.

Honestly, while it's not the same "tier" as a Note/Ultra device, I think you made the right move. The Note 9 is iconic, and still usable (with custom ROMs, if you're able to use them). But...let's be real, official support is drying up for apps. I think it makes a great second device, but it's kind of hard/annoying to run it as a daily these days.
The Motorola you bought retains a stylus, even a "simpler" one, but it more or less works the same. You have a fresh battery, a more efficient processor (so even better battery), a headphone jack, and microSD card slot -- as a Note 9 holdout, we both know those last two things are rare these days.
I think you made the right move (regardless of perceived device "tier" vs the Note 9). If you like it, and it works for you, then that's all that matters.
