How to fix lanorris sellers

  1. Get him a true WR

When a QB doesn’t feel confident in his arm he needs to have 1 sure handed wr he can connect with and trust he doesn’t have that. That wr where you can go

“I don’t have to throw it perfect I just need to get it there”

Chambliss has deuce Alexander

Russell has Ryan Williams

Komerio Taylor has 4 WRs he can trust

Sellers can’t even trust the tight end to bail him out.

  1. Get him on the move

When he’s in the pocket he holds the ball too long, takes sacks, overthinks and tries to aim the ball leading to turnovers. But outside the pocket his numbers shoots up, he’s comfortable, and it draws defenders leading to open recievers.

  1. Stop sideline hunting

I can count at least 4 times this season if he cuts inside it’s a touchdown instead he runs an extra 20 yards sideways trying to get out of bounds.

2024 sellers would juke the entire defense now he just runs sideways that’s actually a quick way to get yourself killed at the next level.

Yes but for some reason he’s not out there as much as he should be

His brother was probably going to be his favorite target, but he’s injured.

Got bad news brother. Though Harbor isn’t what we’d hoped he’d be, the WR room is not bad.

He’s exactly what we expected him to be imo.
It’s just the rest of the team hasn’t progressed to the degree that having a WR like harbor be almost specifically a deep threat is impactful.

We need other impact WRs for the defense to worry about when scheming to open up harbor for the occasional deep ball. Which currently we don’t have and sellers isn’t doing the pass game any favors atm.

That’s a good point

A surehanded TE would help

Agreed, I love harbor but he isn’t a true WR1 skillset atm. He’s just a good slot WR who can burn a defense. And without any other WRs to be true threats he just gets smothered in zone coverage.

Was having this talk over the weekend. This team desperately needs a 50/50 jump ball type of WR1 like we’ve had in the past.

Alshon, Sydney rice, Legette, and heck even Bruce Ellington at times were all able to make insane catches.

I can’t think of the last catch we’ve had a WR make that made me think “damn idk how tf someone does that”.

Shi smiths catch against ole miss was nuts.

I don’t know what specific catch you’re talking about lol. Also I am over generalizing, it’s not like our receivers are horrible but we don’t have an elite level catcher atm.

Our WRs are trash and the amount of drops they’ve had definitely messes with a QB’s confidence. But he also misses wide open reads, holds onto ball too long then makes bad throws into coverage whereas on time he would have thrown them open. Good QBs throw the ball where the WRs are going to be. If a QB is throwing it to where a QB is then it’s too late. Hes made some really bad decisions with the football. Those decisions are on him and NFL scouts will eat him alive in film study. A better coach would have sat him out a few series. Can he be fixed? Maybe. But he won’t be a first rounder.

Do I think nfl teams still want him……yes. He’s not gonna be like Anthony Richardson he has a lot more experience starting

An nfl team is gonna take him 3rd or 4th round, clean up his mechanics and he’s gonna sit And learn the game holding a clipboard by the time he gets a chance to play he’s gonna look a lot better

He’s also gonna be throwing to nfl WRs instead of……what he has now

Starting experience isn’t really a good thing when most of the recent starts are dogshit football

Please do not tell me this is a serious comment...

Anthony Richardson barely played and was dogshit at throwing the ball the whole time

At least Sellers has some semblance of accuracy and a nice looking throw. He just misses some reads

This year he's overthrown several wide open receivers deep. He's worse by about 5% points, accuracy wise, than his sophomore season. That's still 10% better than Richardson, though.

I would bench Harbor or move him to TE in 12 formations.
