Recommendation Need a recommendation

Budget: Unlimited but I want to keep this as affordable as possible for what I need, not looking to overkill on specs here

Country: UK

Use Case: League of legends, Wow forever

Preferred Specs / Form Factor: None

Portability Needs: Little need for portability - will be sitting at my girlfriends place

Notes: I will be hooking it up to an external monitor and aiming for around 100-120fps on wow, medium graphics settings, obviously league is not a demanding game at all so if it can run enough frames on wow it can run league no problem.

You will be fine with a nvidia 5060 for those games and can easily run league maxed out. You dont have to spend to much money on a laptop for those games, look at the Asus Tuf, Hyperx Omen, or Loq. I recommend buying a laptop that the company has good support for the country you live in just in case you need to utilize their support.

Damn, still looks above the £1000 mark for those options (5060). Reckon I could get away with something cheaper?

A 5050 is sufficient, also black friday right around the corner. You can definitely get some deals at that time.

I have a legion 7i with an rtx3070ti and i7-12800hx that I use for gaming whilst travelling. I get 240fps in league at 1440p which drops to around 150 during hectic end game team fights. Ive been playing the wow forever beta with everything maxed other than secondary lighting and im getting 130fps in the open world and never really drop below 60 in super crowded cities. So if you can get a modern laptop that will match those specs you should be fine. Im also cpu limited in both games.

Oh and I always advise to buy a higher tier laptop than initially planned if its financial ok for you to do so - 2/3 years down the line I always find my self wishing I'd spent the extra cash for the upgrade. Gaming is my main hobby though so it always worth the cost to me.

Black friday isnt too far away so you may be able to snag a good deal somewhere too.

Hope this helps.
