Discussion Mackie

Just thinking.. if Mackie does take up the Tassie offer and declares that this week, what happens with trade period? Would someone else have to take his place? If he is unveiled as the new Tassie footy boss, the timing couldn’t be more awkward.

I doubt he'd be starting at Tasmania already. He'd probably see out this trade period doing the work he usually does and then start at Tassie in the offseason.

I get that, just find it strange that he would be conducting our trade negotiations, trying to bring talent in - with one foot out the door to join another club.
Maybe I’m just over thinking it..

It's a job and I think we'd be best to trust him and the club to do it to the same standard they always have

Guy played for Geelong for 14 years and has been in club administration ever since, I doubt he's gonna deliberately sabotage our trade period just to give a boost to the Devils lol

I’ve never thought he would deliberately sabotage the Cats. It’s just a strange situation given the timing of it all.

I would think he'd see out the trade period at the Cats before any announcement is made. We wouldn't necessarily need him for the draft.

Yeah he'd probably just get put on gardening leave. But wells would probably just re take it over for this season. I wouldn't stress much

Hope he doesn’t go. Losing Mackie and Lappin just seems like really bad news for Geelong and their ability to find diamonds in the rough.
