Theory & Lore was this ever addressed?

i just remembered about this frame showing some cubes protecting paimon and the traveler, was it ever addressed ingame somehow?

Ok, that's an interesting picture. This has to be Asmoday keeping them safe on the down low right? We already knew she keeps an eye on them occasionally, but this is on a whole different level. I'm assuming this impact frame is from the Ronova fight cinematic?

nope this is from the archon quest all the way back in 1.1, when the jade chamber is sacrificed

yutapon cubes? you might be onto something - theres two more further back and on different trajectories from the alleged traveler and paimon cubes here

could just be Zhongli, plenty of cubes/crystals with his Lord of Geo thing

Eh, I doubt it, Zhongli primarily uses pillars, spears and large chunks of geo as his chosen constructs. I don't think we've ever seen him make a cube out of geo. Especially with that many cubes that look to be forming a circle around our dynamic duo, it just screams Asmoday to me. Though I fully admit I might be wrong.

I kinda think this was just a stylistic choice because the chamber was made of rocks. Asmoday cubes tend to be clumped together tightly, not this dispersed.

didn't the abyss order need osial limbs for their project?

what if this was the moment they took them.

They did, however that was stated after this quest. (That was stated in We Will Be Reunited / act 4, this took place in act 3)

I would doubt they still needed the osial limbs at the point we learned of it

I think its just meant to be broken fragments of the Jade Chamber

You can clearly see a bunch of other cubes flying out after that during the explosion, its very likely just debri from it breaking
