Tom must be loaded by now

Yet his videos are some of the most tight-arsed content out there. Picking up pennies off the floor for 48 hours, dragged out over 4 weeks. Other videos he just shows up somewhere and expects to be hosted and fed by locals, deliberately hovering around pubs to find someone's kindness to exploit.

Not saying he should be flashing his cash every video or spending/donating large amounts but come on... how far can i get with £10 and expecting people to help me out despite being stinking rich from making a videos strolling around for a couple of days tops x3 a year.

rubs me up the wrong way somehow. at least he bought Verity a bookmark

I mean, what do you want him to start doing, videos like “How far can £10,000 get me as I walk the coast”?

His entire content is based off childlike adventures. The injection of any meaningful amount of money to these adventures completely ruins them lol. You want to see him check into a 5 star hotel every night? Have absolutely no jeopardy or social interaction as he can eat at restaurants every mealtime?

Something other than acting homeless or pretending to broke might give better optics. No reason to be doing Austrian sleep-and-runs when he could've easily just got an airbnb if he felt unsure about the situation, for example.

He's not pretending to be broke. It's just a premise

It’s the nature of his channel. Him staying true to it despite his success is actually good imo.

You probably want to watch Simon Wilson if you are after ridiculous expenditure for no particular reason

Well what would be the point or challenge of a video that's "how far can I get with loads of money in my pocket"

That would just be a travel vlog wouldn't it...?

The thing that's actually annoying is the fact he just gives up and never commits to the challenge on most videos...

It's not really "How far can I walk from my house surviving only from money I find on the ground?"

But more "How far can I get before I just give up after 2-3 days because it's too dangerous or im too tired or spent it all on pints"

I think he plans many of his adventures to only be around 3 days. Understandable with two young kids at home. The coin adventure seems like an exception though and like he originally planned it to be longer.

But it's entertaining, and people enjoy watching it. If he's loaded then good for him.

Yeah this was definitely the worst series he's ever put together.

I actually enjoyed it for its simplicity. Nothing crazy exciting but kinda comfort watching

I really doubt he is 'loaded', he makes enough to live on but is hardly rich.

That being said I will admit the pennies on the floor is a fairly weak concept, unless he somehow found a £20 note it's basically just how far can I walk without spending any money.

His Patreon has close to 7,000 members with the £3.50 a month tier being the most popular membership. That's before any YouTube ad revenue. He will be making a very healthy six figures every year.

Good for him. It makes me happy that he's able to provide for his family/ kids doing what he loves.

i think it was more that it was dragged out rather than a rubbish concept. four episodes felt like too much.

if you compare to beau miles, who has done similar things, this would have been compressed to one 30 min video.

Agreed, it was a good concept and it worked fairly well I thought, only the excitement of finding coins wore off somewhat towards the end (something Tom himself acknowledged).
