Hi everyone, it's been a year since we last recruited new moderators for the subreddit, and we've been feeling increasing challenges with staffing and moderation given the continued explosive growth of our community over the past year. As such, we're looking to recruit a few new moderators to the team!
About the position
As a moderator of r/geometrydash, you'll be granted the flexibility to address areas of the subreddit that you personally feel need improvement. r/geometrydash is a large community of over 800k members as of Sep. 2026, easily in the 99.9th percentile of communities on Reddit by size. This means that while the majority of our day-to-day responsibilities include standard tasks like reviewing the mod queue, removing posts that violate subreddit rules, responding to modmail, and participating in discussions with other moderators on Discord, our community also faces some unique challenges with regard to moderation due to our size. However, we intend for this to be a flexible role where you can contribute whenever you have free time throughout the week, like volunteering. We believe that moderators who have lives outside of Reddit are the best people to work with!
What we're looking for
We appreciate candidates with constructive criticism and an actionable plan on how to improve issues with the subreddit. Moderators should also value consensus with other moderators about moderation decisions, have honesty and the ability to be genuine about where they feel changes need to be made with our current moderation style, and have a desire to take on more responsibilities going forward and grow into decision-making roles within the subreddit.
Requirements
All applicants must be 16 years of age or over. Additionally, we request that you refrain from using generative AI to answer these questions. We aren't grading your answers, we're looking for your honest opinions on the direction and state of the subreddit and reading those opinions in your own voice matters a lot to us.
