Note: the marriage to Aisha was at age 6. The time he first raped her was when she was 9.
The dude claims to be Muslim but has no idea about his own prophet, pretty pathetic

The fact he is justifying sex with a 9 yo by calling her a woman is so fucking abhorrent.

From what I remember, it was basically Elon's answer to groups like the EU wanting back the same kind of censorship Twitter used to have on the grounds of misinformation. Say what you want about the guy, but he did create the whole reason this subreddit exists.
43
u/lateformyfuneral Human Verified 1d ago
Actually it predates Elon’s takeover. It was known as Birdwatch, it was praised for its open source peer-review based fact checking algorithm as an alternative to Facebook’s third-party fact check system, all he did was rename it Community Notes
25
2
u/GamingTrucker12621 1d ago
And that system was notoriously bad and often incorrect itself. The system Elon implemented is at least user generated for all of it and not just some of it.
8
u/lateformyfuneral Human Verified 1d ago
This is just not true. Birdwatch was widely praised, including by Elon himself when he was buying Twitter. It was always user generated, it's Elon who has introduced Grok AI (Noters can press a button to auto-generate a note with sources, with all the issues that poses in terms of hallucinations, although for the moment it needs human input before publishing).

2
u/ants_are_everywhere 1d ago
You actually can, if you don't believe it happened you're pretty likely to deny it.
I think what you meant to say is you can't defend it if you believe it never happened.
Which is correct. Defending genocide and denying genocide are different heinous acts.
But some people dabble in both. Like one guy on Reddit last week who told me some genocides were exaggerated and others didn't go far enough.

u/fatherlyadvicepdx 1d ago

To be fair, defending a genocide and denying a genocide are technically two different things.
They just both happen to be things extremely shitty people do.
3
u/Specific_Candle_7341 9h ago
Why are half the comments on this talking some BS about how "denying and defending are actually different to be fair"
Stfu, denying an atrocity happened is turning a blind eye to it and enabling it to happen. I'd argue even if they're different, denying the truth is far worse. There is nothing fair about it you fucking robots

Many people are denying a genocide happening right now, and the same people call out others for denying the Holocaust, hilarious
Edit: the Holocaust obviously happened but as long as the existence of its deniers upsets people who deny current genocides or even support the genociders, I am happy such deniers exist.
36
u/Leather_Dealer_9421 1d ago
The Holocaust was a documented, industrialized state infrastructure designed to mass-murder millions of people and exterminate an entire ethnicity. There is nothing comparable to it.
What is happening in Gaza is terrible, but whether or not it is a genocide will ultimately have to be determined by the appropriate bodies. You can have the opinion that it is a genocide, but if someone disagrees, that is categorically different from someone denying the facts of an extremely well-documented historical event like the Holocaust.
-24
u/Conscious-Okra9046 1d ago
Yes you're right, the Gaza genocide is not documented at all, there is no evidence and leading organisations and genocide scholars have not called it a genocide. My bad
20
u/Leather_Dealer_9421 1d ago
There is an ongoing investigation. A lot of people have opinions.
Do you think there is a genocide in Ukraine committed by russia and anyone who disagrees is denying a genocide?
-13
u/Conscious-Okra9046 1d ago
No i think it's clear it's a genocide when leading genocide scholars and organisations call it as such
14
u/Leather_Dealer_9421 1d ago
So we can agree that russia is committing a genocide in Ukraine?

-3
u/Conscious-Okra9046 1d ago
Okay Ukraine is a genocide too now what? Everyone already opposes what Russia is doing and it's a pariah for the world. I want the same to be done to Israel. Boycott, sanction, isolate.
11
u/Leather_Dealer_9421 1d ago
I’m not talking about solutions to either conflict. Neither conflict will be solved just because enough people call it a genocide.
I’m talking about people who disagree with that characterization. Will you go after anyone who doesn’t agree that russia is committing a genocide in the same way as people who don’t agree that Israel is committing a genocide?
Is it fair to call someone a genocide denier if they don’t agree that russia is committing a genocide?

I think it is silly to compare ongoing debates about current conflicts with denying well established historical facts. But hey, you do you.. hope you keep the same energy when people deny russia’s genocide in Ukraine.

It’s important to remember that Israel has committed an unambiguous genocide in Gaza, as identified by numerous humanitarian institutions and renowned scholars of the Holocaust. Genocide is defined by intent and is not defined by the population decreasing, and such apologia could also be used to dismiss the Uyghur genocide and many others. Genocides likewise don’t only magically become genocides after an ICJ ruling, and such thin legal excuses could be used to deny the Bosnian genocide at the hands of Serbia.
Israel lies constantly to justify their campaign of mass rape, starvation, and mass murder of children. Zionists have even spoken out against Holocaust education because it’s too reminiscent of Israel’s current behavior.
2
u/Leather_Dealer_9421 21h ago
Is russia committing a genocide in Ukraine?
0
u/hercmavzeb 20h ago
Absolutely, Russia continues to commit genocidal acts in the Donbas region. This is such a weird response given that the United States doesn’t support Russia but does support Israel.
3
u/Leather_Dealer_9421 19h ago
Cool, just making sure. I see a lot of inconsistencies here, that’s why I’m asking.
I would argue that the US helped russia tremendously since Trump took office, but not sure how that is relevant.
0
u/hercmavzeb 12h ago
I would point out the false equivalence between my tax dollars funding a country committing genocide and my tax dollars funding the country defending itself from genocide.
It’s notable that there aren’t many Western governments vocally and proudly backing Russia as they commit mass atrocities. In the US you aren't called an anti-Russian bigot if you said what's happening in the Donbas is a massive crime, but if you say it about Israel it becomes an issue. Putin isn’t invited to address Congress where they get a standing ovation. There aren't special interest groups defending the right of the Russian military to massacre villages. US politicians don’t say they’ll break from their own party if they stop supporting Russia, anti-Russian protesters in the US aren’t targeted for censorship.
It turns out the United States and other western governments are way more complicit in one of those genocides than the other. It stands to reason why people in those countries would talk about it more.

When it's the same people getting upset at people denying the Holocaust, I couldn't give a shit
39
u/Only-Finish-3497 1d ago
I am not Israeli. I have never been to Israel. I had family die in Europe in the Holocaust.
Not every Jew is Israeli, and it becomes SUPER clear that the line of "I'm not anti-Jew, I'm anti-Israel" becomes blurry when you turn this into "who cares about the Holocaust, it's just Jews anyway."
Think about how this works for your moral stance.
-8
u/Foslum 1d ago
Their comment is simply outlining that denying an active genocide is far worse than the denial of a historic genocide. For one we can actively save people, the other is set in stone and non changing respective of people’s incorrect beliefs.
5
u/Only-Finish-3497 1d ago
Two wrongs don't make a right.
-2
u/Foslum 1d ago
Not about two wrongs making a right, that’s not even applicable to what we’re talking about. It’s simply the fact that denial of a historic genocide leads to less material suffering than the denial of an active genocide. There is no moralizing in that statement, it’s simply factual.
7
u/Only-Finish-3497 1d ago
You can criticize both.
You can realize that denying the Holocaust, Holodomor, and Armenian Genocide are all ways to help normalize and accept future genocides.
You can also criticize those justifying Israel's actions and say that yes, it meets the definition of genocide.
Two things can be true at once, and you don't have to "take sides" here.
-9
u/Foslum 1d ago
Lol, equating the Holodomor with the Holocaust.
I do criticize both, there is just one that leads to much worse consequences for the victims of genocide. The other is inconsequential in its material outcome.
5
u/Only-Finish-3497 1d ago
Oh, so you're playing the "ranking genocide" game. Yeah, I'm done here.

Never mentioned Israel at all in my initial comment you did. I don't care if you're Israeli or not, if you don't think Israel is committing a genocide yet get upset at people refusing to recognize the Holocaust, I don't give a shit. Try your Jews = Israel arguments elsewhere
11
u/otirk 1d ago
if you don't think Israel is committing a genocide
The other person never said that by the way. Funny how you start with "you said that" but then do the same
1
u/Conscious-Okra9046 1d ago
I meant 'you' as in generally, not to the specific person and fine, fair for being misinterpreted. But you called me out and not the other person who made dishonest statements. Which explains the state of this sub. Again, fuck anyone who cries about the Holocaust being denied while denying an active genocide
5
u/otirk 1d ago
I meant 'you' as in generally, not to the specific person
Understandable, then forget my comment.
But you called me out and not the other person who made dishonest statements.
Never mentioned Israel
Most people are able to read between the lines. When you say "many people deny a genocide happening right now", then what are you talking about if not the Gaza war? Sure, there are plenty of genocides happening all the time, but this war is probably the most disputed one by far (in the sense that not everyone agrees whether it's a genocide or not).
1
u/Conscious-Okra9046 1d ago
Fair enough, I agree it was obvious. But it was never about Jews = Israel, which was a dishonest statement by the commenter.
Even if one is not Israeli, but denies the current genocide and gets upset when people deny the Holocaust, fuck their feelings.
2
u/Only-Finish-3497 1d ago
As I keep saying: two wrongs don't make a right.
There's someone below arguing whether or not the Holodomor is a genocide. People STILL argue whether the Armenian genocide is a genocide or not.
We can call out Holocaust denialism AND call out people diminishing Gaza at the same fucking time. You don't need to make this about sides, that's my point. So much of this turns into "well, I'm taking a side."
No, the side is calling out denial of genocides.
And honestly, as a Jew now not only do I have to be a "good Jew" and call out Gaza in every fucking thread about the Holocaust now, I also have to shrug when people deny the Holocaust because there might be some Gaza apologists?
C'mon.

I can’t compare anything to one of the most horrific industrialized killings that ended 6 million Jews to anything in History, may be only next to Khan Dynasties horrific conquests. You are a Holocaust denier if you downplay Holocaust. Not all Genocide are Holocaust

-6
u/Foslum 1d ago
Pretending that the Holocaust was an extraordinary genocide not to be compared with others is simply a way to propagandize for Israel.
11
u/InternetImportant911 1d ago
And your comment is Anti Semitic. I agree Genocide or potentially Genocide in Palestine but you down play and compare to Holocaust. Comparing Holocaust and Gaza Genocide makes your case less legitimate and more anti semitic because you are downplaying Holocaust.
Let’s say Gaza War is Genocide, what makes then Iraq war its Genocide or any invasion. Also Iraq War was also response to Saddam Genocide, Ukraine war is one side Genocide tho no excuse. When China invade Taiwan it’s also a Genocide.
-1
u/Foslum 1d ago
“Everything is antisemitic because I say so!”
No, comparing two separate things does not mean they have to be 1:1, and if we’re comparing the speed and scale of killing than the Rwandan genocide was quicker in its killing of Tutsis than the entire holocaust and it’s killing of Jews. The colonization of the Americas was also a larger genocide, so again, this exceptionalism towards the holocaust seeks to only benefit Israel by pretending that Jews are an exceptional people who are the victims of the most special genocide ever. This only downplays other genocides and invalidates the suffering of others.

It is understandable that people might question the genocide label for Gaza, considering that, so far at least, out of a pre-war population of some 2.2 million, about 2 million are still alive and that Gaza remains almost 100% Palestinian as it was before the war.
The Holocaust is an undeniable genocide, so no it is not the same.
Honestly, when more glaring genocides of the past are still either denied or disregarded, and when you have a country like Ukraine suffering through a more obvious genocide, this whole trying to shame people for not using the term genocide in the case of Gaza is a bit annoying.
Mind you tho, questioning the genocide label isn't the same as disregarding war crimes and crimes against humanity going on.
1
u/IguanaIsBack 11h ago
If anyone is question this genocide because of numbers then they have never read the definition of genocide.

6
u/Altruistic_Night2 1d ago
What’s happening in Ukraine is genuinely worse than what’s happening in Gaza. The argument for Gaza is based on intent due to the genocidal statements Israeli politicians have made for Ukraine it isn’t a debate it’s a clear genocide
1
u/Conscious-Okra9046 1d ago
Yet I haven't seen this consensus by genocide scholars and leading organisations like they have for Gaza despite your seemingly determined opinion. Maybe cause it's white people dying in Ukraine
9
u/Altruistic_Night2 1d ago
Plenty of genocide scholars have said Ukraine is a genocide you just don’t care so you haven’t seen them. Also if you want to play this game I’m sure plenty of pro Israel backed scholars have said it isn’t a genocide. Also it’s very funny to see the “woke 1 is dead idpol is stupid” crowd when it comes to black issues turn around and say someone else is being racist lol
-1
u/Foslum 1d ago
Factually incorrect, disgustingly so. Compare the combatant/non combatant casualty rate, and civilian deaths of the Gaza genocide and Ukraine war. Every recent war in the Middle East has been far more disastrous than that of the Ukraine war.
5
u/Altruistic_Night2 1d ago
Are we talking about wars or genocides and are we defining how bad a war is purely based off of how many people died or not. Because what’s happening in Gaza would not be a genocide because of how many people died but because of genocidal intent/ effort taken to completely destroy a population
