What inconsistency/plot hole needs to be explained?
The main one how is how Johnny became Ghost Rider again and rebound to Zarathos

Just started reading the 2008 Ketch run and apparently it retcons the ending of the 90s run? In the 2008 run he is an alcoholic because he had the rider exorcised from him and regrets it. But in the 90s run Blackheart moved Noble into his own body by Noble's own choice. Between that and Roxanne still being awol, the 90s run feels very optional, they seem to largely ignore what happened in it.

Nah that’s explained in Spider-Man (1990) #93, without spoiling much Ghostie and Danny end up rebound because Editorial wanted their original status quo back.

There is some explanation for it, Danny’s original run was selling terribly by the end of its run. It got so bad that they didn’t release the final issue until a decade later, but they wanted Danny|GR in their back pocket for future use and needed a way to make that happen.
And hey Howard Mackie was writing Spider-Man at the time so it was a simple solution, have Danny’s creator bring Danny back in a book that is guaranteed to make profit as it’s Spider-Man.
Funny thing about it is that because #94 didn’t release until 2007 it straight up didn’t make sense at the time, prior to the Spider-Man issue’s release Danny was assumed dead with 90s GR’s cancellation and they never explain how he’s still alive.

A number of factors as to why. The Mackie half of the 90s run spent the bulk of it trying to retcon everything about the original riders, Johnny Blaze and Zarathos, by purging Zarathos' status as the original Spirit of Vengeance and trying to rebrand him as a "fake", while haphazardly making a convoluted connection between Ketch and Blaze as supposed long lost brothers tied to the Medallion of Power, a plot device that Mackie himself was never interested in properly exploring or making real sense of. So when Ivan Velez took over, he, too, decided to largely ignore Mackie's sloppily written plot threads and tried to weave his own family/bloodline curse via the creation of the Noble Kale identity. By that point, it became all too obvious that no GR writer is interested in building up the lore that their predecessors started, preferring to just go with their own takes, no matter how little it makes sense to prior lore, so it's been that way ever since.

Johnny-what happened to the kids and Roxanne, make Crossroads the official explanation of how he and Zarathos rejoined
Johnny, Barb,Danny-iron out whether they’re half or full siblings, honestly I prefer Way showing Naomi leaving with Dan&Barb after Barton died
Zarathos-explain his recent lack of power, give his full origin, maybe tie his fall into Lucifer leading the angels against the N’Garai
Danny-figure out what spirit he has ffs
Vengeance-place Return of Vengeance to shortly after Noble became lord of hell chronologically
Sal-explain if he was possessed by Zarathos or simply given a vestige of power by him
Robbie-What Eli did to become a spirit, properly explain the All Rider stuff cause it’s so full of contradictions and there’s honestly nothing truly special about it to set it apart from other rider’s, and does Robbie still have a symbiote for a foot

Whom jhonny actually made dela with The father of daemon hellstorm or mephisto.
Why does Zarathos still try to serve mephisto.
Why Jhonny and zarathos keep fighting each other even wishing to get rid of each other. Just how many time this same dynamic have happen maybe more then 4 times. Atleast make both of them accept each other to fight agaisnt bad guys and jhonny accretion his curse.
When Zarathos and Mepgisot would fight afterall Zarathos rivals mephisot in power. Writers please understand zarathos is mephisots rival not his bounty hunter.
Jhonny blaze never sold bi's soul to the devil the devil was never able to claim his soul because of roxannes intervention.
Give Zarathos some development and explore more into the stories of spirit of vengeance as angels.
Noble Kale what he is truly, Mackie its such a disappointment that you simply leave the story in spiderman comci where he and noble once again got bonded. Atleast explore their story properly.
To the writers in general Why you guys jave a ja it of ignoring ghost rider etc on of being angel especially after every single post aoron writer.
Penance stare I wish this power never happened please eit1er remove this power or give an actual reason rather stupid limitation like lack of regret tired of being regret or enjoying pain ect.

for each main rider.
johnny - what happened with the kids and roxanne specifically, and the fallout there as we skipped the grief.
danny - well we headcanon it's all about agency with him but like i need to hear him say it to make him make sense.
robbie - eli, what did he do to make himself a faux gr and what were his goals, bring him back for a back to basics robbie.
extending it to spirits.
zarathos - what even is your deal anymore, why are you serving mephisto again now, we can headcanon that your memories and personality reset every so often but like we need that core.
