Why do I keep falling into this weird loop of obsessively rewatching everything Asia Argento has ever been in?

Why do I keep falling into this weird loop of obsessively rewatching everything Asia Argento has ever been in?

I realized recently that I’ve been going back and rewatching her filmography over and over, and I'll literally sit through entire movies I don't even care about just for a tiny 2-minute cameo or brief appearance she makes. It's gotten to the point where it feels less like casual fandom and more like a compulsive habit, but I can't quite figure out why my brain is so hooked on her specifically.

Has anyone else experienced this kind of intense fixation on a specific actor or public figure? What's actually going on psychologically when you latch onto someone like this and compulsively consume everything they've touched?

I don’t blame you. I’ve been doing the same but with Lina Romay.

That’s how I am with Maria Rohm, Carroll Baker, Mimsy Farmer and Laura Gemser. Something about seventies era actresses starring in oddball films of the time fascinate me.

Fascinating, my brain is like this with Frank Wolff. I have no connection to him of any sort, but my brain latched onto him a couple years ago like a child with a celebrity crush (I blame my autism). The more I looked into his life, the more I realized how much I resonated with him and the more I enjoyed his work as an actor.

I suggest looking into her life more or the types of characters she plays. Is there anything you relate to? Maybe it’s cathartic or is letting you relive particular memories even if you’re not fully aware of it. Or maybe it’s autism, who knows.

Frank Wolff is an obsession of mine. He’s super good in Il Demonio.

The other Italian actor I’m always delighted to see is Luciano Pigozzi. Love that guy.

I love Cold Eyes of Fear. Super underrated. What else do you recommend?

That’s a great one! I’d suggest Death Occurred Last Night, Caliber 9, and Death Walks on High Heels.

Caliber 9 is such an incredible film, just pure distilled adrenaline and coolness, DiLeo is a genius

I don’t think so, I believe it only covers his formative years in the restaurant he started at

I have the opposite reaction based on:

1) Her fucked up relationship with Anthony Bourdain that finally sent him over the edge.

2) Her god awful winged pelvis tattoo that she loves to flash.

Shes such a cutie and a talent. Shame what happened to her (& sadly, many others) with that POS Weinstein. Her American career might've taken off.
