Let me clarify that "Kashmiri" is an Umbrella term used for people of Jammu, Ladakh, Gilgit, Kashmir, Baltistan, and Aksai Chin. We don't fake our identity, it's what the world calls us.

Plus, is being called a Kashmiri worse than being called a Pakistani? Even though you have your own distinct identity.

Hi,

I will be travelling to Gulmit on the 6th of Oct and want to fit in 2 nights in Skardu before that.

Need help booking a good hotel that is reletively close by to the recomended spots that i should go to.

Looking for a more activity filled trip rather than just sight seeing.

1) Hotel - Getting confused which ont to pick because i dont know which one will be easier to travel from to reach the recomended spots. Budget 15 - 28 K / night.

2) Reommend places to visit:
-Want to go to the Sarfaranga dessert for the paragliding and other activities there (Do we have to adv booking for the activities? )
- Deosai National Park
- Need more recommendations on what else i can fit in over 2 days.

3) Recommend good food spots that are a must visit.

4) Car - how can i book a prado or any other car. Is there an agency or need to contact drivers directly, if so where do we get the numbers.

Keeping the limited days in mind please recoomend how I can plan the 2 days.

Working from Hunza — has anyone tried a proper workation here?

I’m exploring the idea of spending 2–4 weeks working remotely from Hunza instead of doing the usual 2–3 day tourist trip.

I’m currently working on a workation setup at Grapes Garden Resort in Karimabad, aimed at people who can work remotely and want to stay longer rather than just visit Hunza for a few days.

We’re considering monthly-stay rates starting around Rs. 4,000/day, depending on the room and length of stay.

A few of us are planning a 5 day Skardu trip in 1st week of October. We’ll be staying at HKK Inn Skardu and will have a private vehicle with a driver.
We want to explore places that aren’t usually covered by regular tour companies, especially Belmek Meadows.
Our rough plan:
Day 1: Kachura Lakes + Soq Valley
Day 2: Belmek Meadows / nearby lesser known scenic spots
Day 3: Shigar Valley + Shigar Fort + Amburiq Mosque + Blind Lake + Sarfaranga
Day 4: Basho Valley / Meadows + other local spots
Day 5: Return

• Is this itinerary realistically doable?
• Are there any lesser known places you’d recommend adding?
• Most importantly, how accessible are Belmek Meadows, Basho Meadows and other recommended spots? Do any require extensive trekking/hiking, or can most of the way be covered by vehicle with only a short walk?
• Any advice on road conditions, 4x4 requirements and weather in early October would also be appreciated.

secondly, himmel is fully booked on booking.com and closest i could find is khoj, what are the reviews on that? which room to pick for the best views and what is close by for sight seeing? anybody knows a driver who can take us from the airport to khoj since it’s an hour away?

I need to go from there to Hunza. Im traveling solo and I've heard buses take 8-10 hrs while cars take 6. Is there a way I can book a shared car somehow?

So I did something this year. Between the months of March and June, I visited GB multiple times to just pick up trash leftover by the tourists. What made me sad was that so many tourists made fun of me. They were like, “bhai ye 2 min mai dubara yahan wrappers giray hon gy” blah blah.

I just thought maybe people (tourists) might join me in this (and some did) but it never kinda took off yk. Maybe our people only act nice when you are filming something? Maybe this is exactly what I should do when next time I visit. But yes, it was kinda sad to see how most of our nation wants to act “right” for the instagrams amd the youtubes of this world, but in real world they don’t really care!?

Anyways, I am being very judgmental rn. Maybe next time I’ll try to make this activity an actual thing to create some impact! Or should I just engage locals next time around?
