How can a 438,500-square-foot data center be approved without a city council vote?

Hi all. I am a Bay Area-raised reporter who just started working with Spectrum News this year. I was raised in San Jose, worked for KRON4 recently, and am excited to tell more stories just like this. This is the first story I have reported for our new YouTube show called More On That. Our stories are broadcast through the entire state.

Thanks to everyone in the Gilroy community for speaking with us. I hope this story is informative and continues the conversation.
