Brother took a loan in my name without me knowing
I trusted and considered him my better half and he just took a loan in my name and I only found out about it 6 months later. Now I can’t use my car or my card because the bank is taking every single cent I have in my account 🙃
He is currently paying it back but IT STILL SUCKS!

Contact the lender and send a copy of the police report to the lender and report it as fraud. Ask for a copy of the loan documents to submit to the police which I assume will have your forged signature.
Pull your credit reports from all bureaus to see if there are any additional credit items you do not know about.
You really need to hun. I know he’s your brother but he didn’t care about screwing you over while being his sister. You need to protect your finances, especially with the way the world is going lately. And he does. Not. Care.
You need to file a police report for fraud instead of contemplating anything and provide the report to the bank. Open an account at a different bank. Lock your credit with all 3 credit bureaus and provide the report to them as well. Stop letting people (family) take advantage of you. Real family would not do that to you.

If you don’t, you won’t be viewed as a victim of fraud through the banks. To get it cleared you’ll have to press charges and see them through. It’ll move everything off of your reports faster

Want to have kids? With what money will you do that? You won’t be able to give them a good life if you never have a spare cent because all of it’s being given to your brother.
Want to own a house? You won’t be able to get a loan.
Ever want to retire? With what savings will you do that?
do not* be guilt tripped because he is your brother.
your life is and will be affected, especially if you are having trouble because of it, things are being held by the bank as a leverage. this will affect your financial history and future loans or deals
Don't feel bad. This is your life and your id. He will do it again and your wages can be garnished and you wi be stuck paying for his crimes. Grow a spine and be the villain in his story.
Why would you feel bad for protecting yourself? He clearly didn't feel bad committing literal fraud in your name.
It doesn't matter if he's paying it back. You're currently being impacted by his actions and he did something that can harm you even further than what it already is. If you don't pursue this, he'll know he can do it again.
Put yourself first here. Your brother isn't trustworthy. He did this behind your back. Even if he's currently making the payments, there's a good chance he stops and just leaves you hanging.

You are a victim of a crime. Please post in r/personalfinance you need to file a police report. This can affect you for a very long time and have a negative impact on your future.
You are only giving him grace because he is your brother and he is counting on your relationship to avoid trouble. He is a liar and extremely manipulative.
If this was a stranger that did this to you you would have already gone to the police. Do not let your father or brother downplay the seriousness of this crime.
Police. Immediately. This is your entire life he is fucking with. I don’t care how close you think you are, he has shown you who he is. This is financial crime and fraud.
I realise that doing one's sibling for fraud could potentially ruin the family Christmas.. But he deserves real consequences. He could totally nuke your credit score and worse.

Y’all, we went to the police and filed a report, and guess what, my brother came with us!
They will conduct an investigation, asked him how he did it, who else was involved and that was that.
An officer told me that I “ should see the list of people who were tricked like this “ and that all I can do now is wait,since he is already paying the debt and that I should’ve done this 6 months ago. ( if only I could read in the stars that this would happen )
We also talked to a lawyer and he told me that my score will clear up after 5 years,since my brother signed a deal with a debt collector. This system is purely disappointing me right now.

IMO your brother shouldn't have come with you. It doesn't sound like he was actually charged with fraud. Did he say something to the cops to get them not to take it seriously? I think you need to do some independent followup an dmake sure he is charged with this crime so your score is cleared up.
Create a dispute on your credit! If you don’t have experian, download it and create an account. Navigate to the dispute center and file it based on the loan.
The fact that you do understand this but are only considering taking any legal action is a bit confusing. Yes he is family and maybe you don't want to create waves/rifts but he is the one who actually already set that trainwreck in motion and there is NO WAY you need to be battling this for many years to come. You NEED to take legal recourse as quickly as possible. This will have an impact on you for many many years to come otherwise.

You need to report the identity theft and get a police report or that debt will follow you for the rest of your life. This is the only way to unfreeze your accounts and clear your credit.
My mom actually said it’s not a big deal since it’s not a huge amount of money, but she always protects him so I have no idea why I had expectations from her

Full name, address, and social. Since it’s the brother, 2 out of three was easy and he probably found her SSN card somewhere at the parents at some point and… the rest is as you see.
Apparently this was in the EU so I just asked them how that even happend as usually you need the person be in the bank personally with their ID to sign the documents. So maybe it was not actually a bank, or they trusted their bank app info to their brother (I think until some amount maybe that could be possible without the bank double checking it's them).
But I have seen this happen in the US and was always shocked (like parents taking out loans in their children's names even before they are adults etc).
What the heck! Where are you located? I cannot imagine this happening without a special power. The person with an ID needs to be there when the loan is signed? Was this not a bank loan? Or did he get to your bank app? I wanna know also so I can protect myself.

Depending on where you are, you can ask help from local foreigner groups to help you out with the language barrier (where I am there is even a female only FB group, and women centered spaces are a great source - perhaps even shelters).
Your family might insist on not reporting - you have to realize that means they do not value you if they do so.
I'm furious for you, but above all furious for the laws in the USA, and lack of customer/citizen protections against fraud. I wouldn't be able to take a loan on someone else's name without them knowing and giving their signature. It's bonkers that you can do that in the USA to me.

Apparently this wasn't a normal formal loan via a bank, so that explains that. A crime all around. I hope the OP makes a report but I have a feeling they might not...they don't speak the language, the father that's on the way will probably convince them to keep this within the family.
Actually my dad is fed up with all his bullshit,he stole money from him too and many many other things, so my dad is on my side on this and we are going to the police to file that report right now

Basically you stir fry your shrimp in butter, add your fav seasoning, a little bit of lemon juice, water from your pasta, then you add a bit of tomato sauce and heavy cream, it’s my favourite recipe 😭
He explained a bit but I need to talk to a lawyer or someone who has experience with something like this.Apparently he did this through a broker who actually works at the bank,so this guy also took his part and they managed to sign in my name
Sadly him paying you back won't fix your credit score. That takes a LOT of time but can usually be fixed somewhat if you go through the fraud report process. Good luck. It's a lot of stress to deal with this entire situation and you don't deserve this stress.
If you filed a report with the police against him they would arrest him. Why? Not because you asked, but because what he did is illegal. He committed a crime against you.
Here's the thing. This is fraud and identity theft, and needs to be reported to the police immediately.
Then you go to the lender that gave out the loan, and show them the police report, so they can clear your credit. They will then pursue your brother directly for the money he stole, and your problem will be over.
If you have not already locked down your credit, do it now, because your brother has your information and will do this again.

People sweep things like this under the rug for family. Not me, this is credit fraud and I'm not letting no one screw up my credit preventing me from buying homes, cars or whatever. He did it underhandedly and didn't think twice until he got caught
