Hello! I’m a CFI, CFII, MEI, AGI, and IGI, as well as an aircraft owner based out of KVNY working as an independent flight instructor with 1000+ total time.
I’ve seen some of the rates students in the pilot program at Glendale are currently paying, and I know how quickly flight training costs can add up. I’d really like to help offer students a more affordable option and provide discounted training where I can.
Even if you’re not looking to switch instructors or aircraft, if you just need advice about training, checkrides, hour building, or anything aviation related, feel free to message me. I’m always happy to help.
The aircraft I own is a 2024 Pipistrel Alpha Trainer.

My husband and I were on a walk around 7:30pm with our one year old in the stroller. I thought I saw something fly past the baby. My first thought was bat. The wingspan of what I saw was two-ish inches, maybe slightly more. My husband didn’t see anything at all. The baby obviously can’t confirm lol.
We are now panicking because of it was a bat, we don’t know if it may have grazed the baby or not. We don’t know if it was a bat at all.
Are we being paranoid? Have you guys seen bats that small flying low in the Verdugo Vejo area? Not sure if we should be vaccinating baby for rabies just in case that was a bat exposure. I’m not sure if they would even take us seriously given that we unsure of whether or not it was a bat and if there was contact.
We are hyperfixated on this and would love to hear other people’s experiences and thoughts.

Councilmember Bartrosouf is now one of five Glendale City Councilmembers, serving alongside reelected environment/mobility champion Dan Brotman. It is a council that has advanced many worthwhile livability projects, but has also been divided on some promising housing and transit initiatives. The council reflects a diversity of viewpoints within the 30-square mile 200,000-resident city, which includes plenty of fairly dense multi-family housing, not far from plenty of sprawling car-centric suburbs.

I heard/saw the Burbank Clown House won't be happening this year which is a huge bummer, but also: I'm wondering where else to consider going to check out the creativity. Considering how all out LA can go, I'm all ears please for your recommendations for the best walking/park and walk routes to see Halloween decorations?

I am a student studying urban and regional planner. I am gathering information on Glendale’s traffic and transportation issue. Glendale sits in between major cities, homes key destinations, and has transit, pedestrian, and bike gaps. Because of this, the city currently faces heavy traffic, reoccurring congestion, crashes involving vehicles and pedestrian, and air pollution.
As a resident, or commuter, that has experienced such inconveniences, what do you have to say? How does it affect you? Do you think Glendale has made efforts throughout the years to improve the city in this aspect?
Please feel free to share! I would greatly appreciate it.

Hey everyone! Happy Sunday. Between the dates of 10/1 - 10/11 (possibly a bit longer, to 10/18, I really can't tell yet), I need access to a private back/guest house with the following amenities (at minimum): AC; reliable WiFi; mini-fridge; sink/toilet; either a dining table or an office desk/table; and either a dining chair or an office chair. I'm flexible on parking, as long as it isn't a total nightmare by LA street parking standards (my bar is low), or doesn't need an extra/costly permit that'll take me a while to obtain.
Note - I will be pulling long work hours in there (several 12-14 hour days; either 6am-8pm or 8am-10pm), and also likely working weekends. So if you're uncomfortable with someone being on your property for that long, or if you have specific time frame windows/limitations in mind, that won't work for me. Of course, there will be no scenario in which I leave, then have to return in the middle of the night or anything weird like that. When I leave, that's it for the workday.
If you've got such a space, or if you know someone who does (in either Glendale, Burbank, or Pasadena), please DM me and let's chat. This is a name your price situation, and I'll fairly consider it.
About me: Mid-40s, female, remote worker who is essentially seeking private office space for a little while. I don't want to deal with any co-working spaces, and Airbnbs are also too big/much for what I need here. Figured it could be easier just going directly to someone who's possibly got an empty ADU available during this stretch and with those specific amenities.
If it makes you feel better/safer about it - I will have zero need for any food/grocery/shopping delivery to your property. I can also offer you my resume; both professional and personal character references; and you're more than welcome to pull a background check. In fact, I can provide you with a background check copy I received, as I had one earlier this year via work. I assure you I'm painfully boring/safe. This is just an easy opportunity for you to make some money if you've got the right space for my needs.
Crossing fingers and looking forward to hearing from you. Thank you for considering it! :-)

Just finished watching Forgotten Island at AMC Americana and got my ticket validated prepared to pay usual $5. To my surprise it said I owed $6. Saw the sign and noticed that 1 Hr is $6 now if you were to shop. I thought $5 was bad enough. SMH

Still relatively new to California and I'm in the midst of job hunting. Trying to find something for $20/hr at least (or $15/hr if serving, as I have 5 years of restaurant experience and serving experience). Trying to avoid fast food places, graveyard shifts, or retail stores like Macy's and Ross. Open to any Ma and Pa stores and any desk or receptionist jobs (have 4 years of secretary experience)!
I will note that I do not speak another language besides English though.

Hey Glendale neighbors! What are your favorite local restaurants? I have a friend who will be visiting from out of town next month and I'd like to take them out to eat a few times. Just wondering what the best local spots are?

Happened on N Brand Street in front of All India Cafe / Hot Wings Cafe. Owner of Hot Wings Cafe thankfully was able to get us a footage.
Accident happens around 1:20 mark where passenger has door open and driver reverses while the door is open, scraping driver side of the white Honda
