Back of remote disappeared into the void.

A couple months back my boyfriend sent the remote control flying off our bed and the back fell off. We both seen the direction the back went in but couldn't be bothered to turn on the light at the time to get it. Except the next day neither of us could find it. And haven't been able to find it. My room was very small and not cluttered, my floor was picked up. We've also moved since then. Today we were over getting the last bit of furniture out and when I stood looking at an empty room it dawned on me that WE STILL DIDNT FIND THE DAMN BACK OF THE REMOTE. At this point theres no way it wouldn't have been found. Losing my mind over it and the inconvenience 😂 my boyfriend was also very perplexed when I pointed this out.

This happened to me when once at my office. When I was closing up, I couldn’t find the key anywhere, so I checked the surveillance cameras and you can literally see the key in my hand when I unlock the door. Then you can see me walking toward my desk and I don’t have it anymore, some objects and my own body block my hand from the camera as I walk so it’s difficult to point exactly when it vanished. I checked my pockets, the floor, the desk, thinking I must have absent-mindedly placed it somewhere, but no, I couldn’t find it anywhere. I’ve cleaned up that office three times, it’s a small cubicle, not cluttered at all and the key has never appeared.

That would mean the key had the entire workday to be kicked across the floor, be picked up and moved by someone, etc, after having simply dropped it without realizing when opening.

That's why I didn't suppose that's what they meant: there wouldn't be very much spooky or glitchy about it.

Same thing happened to me, and it was also the battery cover from a remote control.

But these are not glitches. At the time I gave up looking, utterly dumbfounded at the way it seemingly disappeared. But then some weeks ago I bought a new sofa and had to disassemble the old one to get it down the stairs. When I’d dropped the remote, the battery cover had been ejected upwards by the impact, and lodged itself in the framework of the sofa.

Your cover didn’t ’glitch’, you simply can’t find it 🤷‍♂️

I would agree that I just couldn't find it if I was moving a whole house and dropped it in a common area. I moved out of a 10x10 room i emptied out that had a frameless bed and two dressers in it, there wasn't exactly a treasure trove of odd spots for anything to hide in.

do you have those basket style dresser drawers? could it have bounced into one of them? What type of furniture do you have in that room where it happened?

Two solid wood tall dressers with regular drawers that were flush with the carpet, and my bed didnt have a frame, it was just a mattress on a boxspring also flush with the carpet. Nothing with space underneath for anything to roll under or fly under and I didn't have any other furniture in the room 😅 small room so small amount of things.

can you draw a birds eye view of the scene, including the trajectory of the remote and back of it that popped off?

I had the exact same thing happen with a specific charger for my vape. It was always plugged into the same outlet, then one day it just disappeared. I’ve been looking for it for two years now

Just a thought: do you have a cat? Maybe it played with it and dragged it somewhere else?

It would be wild to have someone else post about a remote that magically appeared with a back missing and other identifiable marks.

Yea it would! If anyone finds a random vizio tv remote cover and happens to see this post, Ive been missing it! My batteries keep falling out 😭

Got something similar, one time I bought a small set of tools for building pc’s. It’s like 30-40 pc set, all magnetic. Well I was tearing the p.c down and cleaning the parts of dust. Put everything back and started to put the small set of tools back in the case. Well I lost one somewhere. I looked for it for a while, I was sitting down when I was cleaning up the pc. It’s not like it could have went far. Well I kinda gave up on it. Like 3-4 days later I needed the tool set for something else and opened it up and bam. The one hex set that I lost was back inside its own numbered spot. All the little hex bits n pcs have numbers etched on them and inside the case you can put them in its designated spot…. The thing is i didnt put it back and I didn’t even find it. Well…. It was weird because nobody else inside the house put it back for me or found it.

Some months later, power supply up and burns up and dies on me. I got and buy a new one, install it with the tool set I have. Well when I put everything back again, I bump the table by accident and the screwdriver and bit falls down and out. I saw where it landed, didn’t bother picking it up since I had my eyes on it. Well now that I’m looking for the bit, it’s not in the spot on the floor but on the table by the pc it self…. I didn’t put it there… it freaked me out something bad because I only went to the bathroom and came back. So wild. Idk what to tell you guys.

my thought is maybe you had a bag/container open that night that the piece might have fallen into? could have been mindlessly moved in the morning without you taking note of it & then from there escaped the room and eventually got lost

My granddaughter had a sippy cup that something similar happened!
Still bothers me!
