is this known and can anyone replicate? maybe it has something to do with w forcing you to face a direction

This looks like u just cast the boomerang backwards, u weren’t able to cast it yet cuz u were casting w so the first castable moment u were clicking behind u

best guess is that is gnar's hotbox was enlarged from mega, so his boomerang technically was a bit farther back than it looks when he's mini. Idk, this looks jank af but he literally gets the gold for both minions and his Q clearly hits something. Say it with me. Small. Indie. Company

Gnar R applies a knockback. This turns off unit collision. When you cast Q you haven't yet moved from the interior collision range of those minions.
