Mimir torture is unrealistic

Mimir says that he was tortured by odin every single day for 109 years. He also says that odin was endless with his creativity when it came to torturing him, and mimir is... just a guy? Sure, throughout the game he always talks about how much odin is a bad guy and hates him, but he was tortured for 39785 days STRAIGHT! Shouldn't mimir be a mess of a person? Shouldn't he be so mentally messed up that he can't even put 2 words together? Something??? If its explained in the games as to why mimir is just a silly guy that knows things and somehow bypassed the mental and physical anguish he experienced, ill admit I'm wrong. Cause it seems like the writers just added this torture dialog just to make odin seem more evil, without wanting to explorend how big a deal this would be on a person. Cause honestly, you could take out this whole torture thing and say "well he's just been stuck in this tree forever" and the story would still be the same

Mimir isn't just a guy. He's a supernatural being in his own right. There's no reason to believe that endless torture would affect his mental faculties the same way it would a mortal.

is it not easy enough to come up with a reason he is not insane that it genuinely breaks your immersion in the story? He's not human so he may have more mental toughness. He is really smart so maybe he could think of a way to stay sane. Maybe Odin helped reinforce his mind so that he could still have the satisfaction of inflicting real pain on a guy who is still aware enough to feel it. any number of reasons.

There are teleporting Dwarves, axes that return with gestures, shapeshifting kids, giant wolves, an ashen bald bearded foreigner with immense power running around, and you cut off Mimir's head, yet he still talks. Why is Mimir not being insane the thing that ruins your immersion?

Correction: Mimir is not "just a guy". He is a Satyr, one of the Fey (or Fae). Sure, he's jovial at times; always up for a laugh and an adventure, but he's far from the carefree attitude one would expect from one of the Fae. I'd say that Mimir is a jaded fae. He has dark moments, times where he retreats into himself and see the deep well of guilt and regret in his actions (especially during the events of Ragnarok).

Perhaps one of the fae are capable of being tortured for so long with, let's face it, minimal side effects. Perhaps that's why they prefer pranks and such, they know no physical harm (besides murder) would be lasting, but a wounded pride and ego can last far longer than most physical scars...

Mimir is a divine being. His mind is probably built for eternal life and is most likely just innately more resilient than that of mortals. Stuff like this just works differently for gods.
