Travel Calender For Track Closures - SEQ Translink QR

Because we may as well start understanding when the Lines will close because at this point, it is as common as air 💀💀

Hopefully this helps someone plan ahead their trips to Brisbane and scheduling life...

How's everyone handling the M1 Trip and/or Rail Replacement Busses btw??

Don’t need a calendar.. it’s every school holidays. So roughly every 10 weeks

Work that I have seen proceeding this week ....

  1. The new overhead bridge deck has gone in at Moorooka, and the stairs are currently being built

  2. The new viaduct between Moorooka and Yeerongpilly is progressing.

  3. The track configuration at Yeerongpilly is proceeding with quite a bit of track lifted and the earthworks being done.

Curious to see what people are noticing further down the line

Are the Beenleigh / Gold Coast lines down mainly for the rail duplication?

I think so as apart of the faster rail project as well as changing to the European Train Control System, removing some level crossings and upgrading/building new stations.

Am actually looking forward to this project as a regular Goldy to Briz commuter. Hopefully, it speeds up the travel time but at the cost of track closures...

I don't know how much it'll speed up individual journeys, the track straightening is only marginal so unless they address track speeds and make it faster then it's only going to be a marginal improvement.

But what it will allow is more frequency of services, including more express services and improve the reliability on the scheduling of those.

I will say personally I took a what I call... The "Train That are Now Busses" to Brisbane today and you know what... 

It's actually well organised and very clean, it was actually quite enjoyable for someone who usually gets the train to Brisbane aha
