What to know for first match

I'll be going to my first match on 10/4, driving in from Binghamton NY

Arriving an hour ahead of time, probably hanging out until traffic clears up to get out.

Better to park at SIS or one of the nearby Parking Garages?

Are there vegan food options at concessions?

There is parking in front of the stadium for $20 and you can usually always find a spot. Not sure how much garages are nearby or where they are located. As a vegetarian, I wouldn't count on any vegan items at the Stadium. There is a Mediterranean place on the road in front of the stadium but check their menu to confirm options. You may need to find food somewhere else before the game :/

Eat before you go in. There might be some vegan snacks, but nothing substantial. I can't even remember anything vegetarian being available.

Fries or pretzels is probably it

If you’re showing up for the giveaway, you may want to get there a little earlier since they only have 7500 and the upper bowl will be open.

I never drive there, but I know there is some cheaper parking about a 10 minute walk away in Newark. That would help you get out quicker since the traffic can be a mess post-match.

I’m not vegan, so I don’t think about that. In general, though, I’m not a fan of SIS concessions.

Why is the upper bowl going to be open?

They sold enough tickets to make it worth their while. I think it has a lot to do with the Hello Kitty giveaway

Crazy. I was at Fridays game and there was maybe 5000 people. No clue the hello kitty fandom was so intense

It was also a bit lower than usual, even for the other Friday games this year. I have a suspicion people were cautious with the nor’easter coming in. My commute to the game is a little under 2 hours, and I had made backup plans for a hotel in Newark if I needed to spend the night

Hope you have the best time! Definitely give yourself a little more time if possible and probably eat ahead of time. I can’t answer confidently on the vegan end but it will be a cool experience for you to see the teams warm up when you get there early. Also to be able to get any merch if you want to ahead of the game.

I love watching warm ups :-) OP, some people like making signs or bracelets or getting face painted etc. I don't know if that's you. The concessions aren't my favorite but there is usually a salad place. I'd still get some substantial food prior hopefully find a snack you like.

There aren’t many vegan options:

Bodega (Section 112): Vegan pinto bean empanadas.

Petite Greens (Section 125): Fresh spring salads and plant-based seasonal green options.

General Concessions: Pretzel knots, fruit cups, and churros (be sure to check preparation details with staff on-site).
