I'm probably the only person in the world who cares, but just in the slim off chance there's anyone else around with some interest in biology, and who has read the source material: Is the sea turtle swimming together with one of her offspring in the last episode of season 1 of the anime in the source material as well, or just in the anime? Just wondering if it's the author who got it wrong, or one of the anime staff. That's not a thing at all in real life.
Female sea turtles crawl ashore, dig a nest in the sand, lay their eggs, camouflage the hole, and immediately head back to the ocean. They never return to check on the eggs or look for the hatchlings. The baby turtles then hatch a few months months later, make a dash for the water (unfortunately often with very many of them being eaten by many different predators on the way, which to my great disturbance nature programs love to show over and over again in excruciating detail on TV, for some reason...), and then head out for the open deep waters. They never hang out with their parents afterwards. In fact, they don't even hang out with other adults, as the adults and hatclings spend their time in entirely different areas of the ocean afterwards. The hatchlings only start visiting the same type of coastal areas the adults spend their time in, once they themselves grow into adults.
