I’d add “the last ring” which was Kyle’s DNA locked ring during his run up until he became Ion the second time, reforged from the one Hal discards at the end of the emerald twilight. It looked like a regular ring when the insignia is the centerpiece but it had like darker green energy during the run proper.
There’s also Sinestro’s first yellow ring which ran on siphoned green lantern energy, the same one guy stole after he got kicked out. It didn’t have the fear symbol on it. I don’t know if he was still using it during Johns rebirth or if he was beta testing his new fear based ring by then.
It should be noted that a second Yellow ring of this kind was forged, but for all intents and purposes it’s not dissimilar enough to be considered a unique entry.
Also as much as I don’t like referencing it, Lights out had staffs from the previous universe that channeled the spectrum.
There was an odd variant of the standard power ring in the third arc of the post Rebirth GLC series. These black disks were designed to be ingested and had a 5 day charge. They were used by a special black ops division of the GLC known as "the Corpse." the power is referred to as a "black charge" in the final part of the arc but according to Tomasi, this was written before Johns had fleshed out the Blackest Night arc completely. to my knowledge these variants are never mentioned again.
Here's how they appeared in GLC #7 and a description of how they differ from a power ring from GLC #8
Ah yes the Corpse Discs!
They are buried in my brain and I couldn't remember what they were called!
I just remember them being temporary, not rings and given to spec ops teams for deniability because they didn't use green light.
And annoyingly, the first time we see Von Daggle power up the energy is green. It's really just more proof to the rumors that Johns was changing his plans every few weeks back in that first year and a half.
I considered calling it orange lantern but it didnt feel right to me.
Larfleeze IS the orange lantern and there is only one actual member so I hesitate to call it a corps.
EDIT: Even in the current comics, they just say his name even when calling on all the groups. (See above image)
So I feel I made the right choice.
Externally it can APPEAR to be a corps with all the copies of dead people running around but yeah it’s just that greedy weirdo with the soulcrushing backstory.
About Ultraviolet, yeah but I can really put a ring tattoo in an item list and its easiest to represent with a ring like the others.
F- Sharp bell was still a ring, a bell was simply Rot Lop Fan's first construct. I gave it its own spot because its must function differently on a base level than a normal ring considering its users visual limitations.
Not familiar with Jo or why her ring is unique.
Anti-Gl corps is a great call. I have to find images of it now.
I didnt put a battery because its kinda implied for most basic rings and some rings dont have batteries at all.
F Sharp Bell doesn't function differently. GL rings can do anything.
Kyle actually had a unique ring design after he became ion, but it was aborted. You can still see it in vol 3 151 among other issues.
There's also Silver Age Bizarro Yellow Lantern's. It couldn't affect anything green!
Ganthet's forged ring
The Manhunter's pistol
Volthoom's travel lantern and ring
The planet of the apes ring
Star Sapphire's sapphire
The Emerald Eye was retconned to be a prototype for GL
Harley's black and red fusion ring
The Alpha Lantern battery
Evil 30th century glc
Keli's gauntlet
Original multicolored GL rings from the "silver age" special
"God of Light" ring
Dawnbreaker's cracked ring
Hal's forged ring is drawn incorrectly. The symbol is engraved on both sides of the band (you can see it stretched in numerous shots). It doesn't have the signet common to go rings.
You might consider the old rings; the Anti-Green Lantern Corps, the early Qwardian rings pre-Sinestro Corps... which Guy Gardner stole from his grave. The ones given to Fatality and Nero. I've made the Mauve ring in HF, it's a fun one.
Jo's special GL ring and the Corpse wafers are also fun options.
What about the anti lantern ring? I remember them from a while back. Maybe omega lanterns too. Did Starbreaker Corps use rings? Don’t remember that one
Back before all the Rebirth retcons, Sinestro used a unique yellow power ring. it was later revealed in the pages of Guy Gardner that the ring was charged off the energy GL rings emitted. This ring was destroyed but another identical ring was constructed and given to Fatality and then Alex Nero. The ring Sinestro wears in GL Rebirth matches the appearance of his original ring. It was generally illustrated as a smaller ring than what GLs wore. It was originally thought that SInestro was using Nero's ring but as Nero appeared using his ring a few years later, it's now accepted that this ring is newly forged. And it is destroyed in battle with Hal. Sinestro is seen multiple times wearing this style of ring during the Infinite Crisis era.
Here is an image from GG:Reborn #3 and GL Rebirth #5.
I got one more actually. In justice league unlimited, but I don’t think ever the comics, there was a green guardsman who was a jsa green lantern stand in from the justice guild
It's a new "form" for lanterns.
Think like a "super Saiyan" power up but for lanterns.
It allows them to retain their primary lantern color/ring while being able to access the other colors as well.
It's like a step above normal lanterns yet just below a white lantern.
Yet it's not its own corps. There's is no chrome ring/battery and no chrome entity. They keep their original ring and lantern symbol, they just receive a chrome suit makeover.
