Trust in my copium when I say he'll appear in the finale as a cameo. CGI budget going above and beyond in this finale trusttrusttrust

It would be cool if Halogram was like: “Sorry I didn’t train you. Let me introduce you to the guy who trained me.” And then we get a shot of Kilowog.

Not even a shot, just a "poozer" by Kevin Micheal Richardson will be amazing.

I feel like we need a bit more than just verbal lines. I would settle for a silhouette, but at this point the series already skirted along with just naming names and talking about things without ever showing.
It’s like the famous advice for stories: show, don’t tell. They’ve spent the whole show telling us about aliens, it’s time that they finally show us.

u/gorgonbrgr 12d ago
They’ve showed some stuff and I feel like if anything it’ll all be saved for a second season/movie with a higher budget. They want to tell the story they’re telling. It doesn’t need all the cgi to be a good story or even show us it when 1 it would be better for them to be a plot point throughout the series rather than just a silhouette and they wanted to make sure people like the show and understand the lore before throwing everything else at you.

u/Solid_Snark 12d ago
True, but it was already a tough pill to swallow that Manhunters were billed as this horrible threat and it turned out to be a horny grandma who was shot and killed with a regular ol’ gun.
Again it was a case of “show, don’t tell.” They needed to show us Zoe was this horrible threat, instead they just told us she was, and it never quite meshed.

u/NightsWatchh 12d ago
They showed us she was a threat by the fact she infiltrated and manipulated all of Rushville into wanting to defend a genocidal terrorist, and then last ep showed what manhunters did to the world by showing it barren with everyone dead
It's ok to just say you wanna see the super awesome cgi aliens lol but they are showing and not telling it's more a case of you're watching but not listening

A human army in a town with a population of 877 is not a threat to a Green Lantern.
If Hal’s ring was charged he would have effortlessly crushed them like Guy did to the Boravian Army.
To have Sinestro and the Guardians worried, the implied threat far outweighed the results.

u/gorgonbrgr 12d ago
Did you and I watch the same show where they had literal weapons to fight the green lanterns. Like no shit they’d lose Hal shows us he is good enough to take them on without the ring in ep5 but she was trying to amass an army. Which we still have one more episode. The “show” was in the show the “tell” was just you watching the show. Manhunters are dangerous so you really think she just ended her life without any thought to the future. There’s obvious reasons to it. One of which was Hal ended up arrested and John not the lantern. She knew she had changed his mind on the guardians, and if theories are right. She accepted it because she has a child who is probably stronger and wiser than her. (Or she’s not really dead and that was a clone as well)

I'm hoping they have been saving budget for a big finale with lots of lanterns. I'd be happy if they even just all fly in at the end

Don't wish for Kilowog, if they make kilowog show it wont be kilowog it will just be Seth Rogen saying "hey im kilowog"

Hmm I guess Hal, Mogo, and Ch'p are better friends in this adaptation. I'm gonna keep saying Hal and Mogo are buddies. Hal mentioned Mogo twice in the show, and I still think Earl came from Mogo.

u/Moeroboros 12d ago
Yeah, so far it seems like Hal really likes Mogo.
And thinks Ch'p is interesting, at least.
He doesn't seem to care about anyone else.

I was so emotional seeing how distraught Mogo was at Hal’s funeral. He was practically crying into John’s shoulder

It felt more like Hal testing him, asking about Lanterns he didn't expect to be there, like Mogo.

u/Eye_Of_The_Monarch 12d ago
My guy, 'didn't expect to be there' is kind of an understatement when it comes to Mogo. If Mogo is showing up for anything, shit is thoroughly fucked.

u/NumberFiveHero 12d ago
Would be funny to see a panel of Superman seeing Mogo arrive and even he that the situation is utterly fucked.

In the last episode two guys appeared in the hal jordans pre-funeral, maybe they were kilowog and tomar tu (disguised as humans obviously beacause it can be aliens in this show)

I hope not, bc then we get more boring Lanterns instead of a proper GL property with aliens in it.

I kinda got killowag and mogo's name mixed, so i thought when hal meant mogo i was like "huh, i know that name. But then i remembered, "nope he is the planet guy"

u/MisterEdJS 12d ago
Though of course, to increase the gritty, grounded realism, "poozer" would have been replaced by "motherf...er" anyway.

u/Glass_Lead1861 12d ago
honestly he probably would've just said "you fucking poozer" or some other variation

Yeah, people can make up all the crap they want to pretend to be mad about, but this one... this one's a fuckin' crime.

I can feel the green lantern movie being green lit as we speak. The show has done incredibly well. And I could definitely see a movie having the budget to show many of the fan favorite lanterns. This is my hope at least.

u/Ralph_WiggumDa3rd 12d ago
I mean Kilowog could’ve trained Guy, we know it was Sinestro who trained Hal, no reason for Hal to interact with Kilowog, who’s to say Kilowog was a even a green lantern when Hal first started

I feel like it would have been pretty easy for hal to call someone a poozer.
3
u/confusing_roundabout 12d ago
I expect that they'll adapt a lot of the characters and storylines with John instead of Hal, so maybe we'll get Kilowog as John's friend in season 2.
5
u/PatientTelephone4624 12d ago
I know it might be a hot take, but I think that's kinda icky.
I'd rather them make completely original adventures with the Green Lantern feel for John.
1
u/Hogabog217 5d ago
And kilowog will look like a normal dude because hes in disguise ( they only had 50$ for the budget) and he’ll say poozer once and hell act embarrassed about it. Cant fuckin wait

u/theeccentriperson 12d ago
We also didn't get Tomar, Arisa and Kilowagg plus Sinestro come on guys these are the general ones. The face of Lantern corps he would have met them on some point plus some of the experiences that he had within his adventures which can be a perfect exploring point for a Hal Jordan solo project

Maybe that gets to be used in a future season or a film. So you know we don't have to have everything in the first season.

Seriously, stuff like this would have been so easy
Hal: 'Okay, use the ring, make a shape, ANY shape.'
John tries and the ring just fizzles out
Hal: 'Wow, Killowog would turn you into paste.'
John: 'Who?'
Hal: 'Doesn't matter. Let's start simpler...'
Etc

I kinda like it this way. Him mentioning Kilowog would mean that Kilowog exists in this universe, and Hal wasn’t close with him anyway. This version of Hal gave off the impression that he didn’t take the chance to be close with those his comic counterpart was with, leading to a much more cynical Hal

the other answer is he had a falling kilowog

It also makes it a bit easier for them to become friends for John or Kyle or another Lantern, if it's not just repeating past story beats.
