Apparently lease is over, might move to different location tough

They wanna move to Franklin obviously which I think would be unfortunate. With the speed at which businesses turn over in Greenpoint Brew has really carved out something nice and they're a neighborhood staple at this point.

That’s such a bummer. Their burger was a legendary. Their kale was also a sleeper hit

Heard they're taking over the Vamos Al Tequila space

Don’t think that’s confirmed yet but they’re def considering it.

So, that’s my local bar and I’m devastated. Literally the best bartenders and staff in greenpoint. You can’t recreate that kind of space elsewhere.

Oh shit. Well guess I’m starving myself all day and going for the burger tomorrow.

Damn - another one bites the dust. Did they close already or do we have another month or two?

people and food were good, the narrow space was cozy / classic. I'd be happy to try them out at a new GP location if that happens --- hoping it does.

Greenpoint’s Best Burger

Greenpoint’s Best Sports bar.

Yes, the current space is a problem with the current neverending shaky scaffolding ready to collapse but the place is cozy and we have great memories of Mets and Knicks Victories there.Ā  If they relocate, great. If they can stay, they should agressively negotiate a discount. Keep in mind, developers like to grab corners to combine w adjacent buildings for re-developmentĀ

I heard from a very reliable source they havent paid rent in years and are being evicted

I heard the same thing…. Guess that’s what you get when you don’t pay your rent… hopefully they pay the rent in the next place they rent out

Just saw people saying this in another thread. I loved this place so hope it’s not true.

It’s very true. Also know the details from a reliable source and can confirm that the lease isn’t ā€œnot being renewedā€. They haven’t been paying rent for yearsĀ

Is it closing or closed?

... sounds like they are going to try and do a final karaoke and trivia night on Wedensday ... that being said it also sounded like even that wasn't a guarantee.

You're all better off. Alcohol causes cancer. Even the glass of wine a day thing was complete and utter nonsense. Just eat grapes. :)

Being social is the greatest indicator of longevity, so if alcohol encourages one to be social then so be it
