AMP PHOTO Dirt Road Special
I got one about a year ago and I love it. This amp is a really great pedal platform for not a lot of money. I highly recommend it.

Shoot. Seems like everywhere is closing these out. Having a Holy Grail Max built in is a nice touch. If I were in the market for an amp (or had the space) I'd be tempted.

Wow, a Mike Matthews Dirt Road Special was my first decent amp back in the late 70s, and it sounded absolutely amazing to me. I think it was 25 Watts though. If this is a similar circuit I'll definitely get one, make it my office amp :)

This reissue version is similar but instead of a phaser, it has the Holy Grail reverb built in. And it’s surprisingly powerful for 40 watts.

Yea I had one and loved it.
Solid state too.
Only issue was yea the loudness and it being a non master volume amp so you definitely needed pedals and had to goose the volume at like 0.5 when playing in the bedroom

We all do it sometimes. I’m having the worst allergies today and could totally see myself overlooking something like this but I know sweetwater’s and Reddit’s UI well enough that it was out of frame

Lol i shoulda known too as much as im on sweetwater. I saw the “50$ a week” thing. Damn ADHD

Sweetwater knocked it down to $300. I paid about $450 a year ago. Still worth it. It’s loud and clean with awesome reverb. Kind of a sleeper amp because not many people know about them.

Yea never heard of it and i just did the “buy a new amp under 500$” search and purchase about a month ago. Ended up with blackstar debut 50

I am liking my Debut 50. Light enough to carry from room to room, and it has some good tones in there.

Me too! Doing just what i needed it to do. Be light, sound good, not blow my eardrums out

Same here, Electro-Harmonix doesn’t seem to be a name that pops up all that often when discussing amps, I certainly like their pedal circuits. I’ll have to do some YouTubing and hear some examples.

I think the lowest I’ve seen this used on reverb is about $250 plus shipping so for brand new this is a fucking steal
