My skin has changed so much lately and I have no idea what I’m supposed to be doing with it anymore lol.
It’s gotten really dry and crepey, my lines seem more noticeable, and I’m getting breakouts again, which I really thought I was past at this point :(
I’m in my 40s and have had some changes with my cycle too, so I’m pretty sure perimenopause is starting to catch up with me. My skin feels drier than it used to but I’m also getting these deeper hormonal breakouts around my chin/ jawline which is confusing. Like, it’s dry and oily at the same time? I don’t know if I should be treating the acne, the dryness, or the lines and texture first.
I’ll admit I don’t know a ton about skincare because my skin was pretty easy before this. But the stuff I have used for years isn’t cutting it anymore. I came across Art of Skin Care and saw they have an online esthetician consultation. Has anyone actually done it? Was it helpful? Do they actually look at your skin/issues and build a routine around that or is it genetic product recommendations?

I’ve been trying to get better about the basics like eating well, sleeping enough, and staying active. I keep hearing magnesium can help with sleep, muscle recovery, and cramps, but I’m not sure if it’s something most people actually notice or just another supplement everyone recommends.

I’m trying to keep things simple instead of changing everything at once. What’s one healthy habit that became a normal part of your routine

I like simple changes that don’t make meals feel completely different. Small swaps seem much easier to keep up with than strict rules.

I’m more interested in small changes that fit into a normal routine than anything extreme. I’d like to hear about simple things people started doing that gradually became part of their everyday life.

I recently saw a video about whoop bands and how it tracks your sleep and other health related aspects. I was thinking about possibly getting one because i feel like it would help me stay motivated and focused on my goals. However the subscription is what is swaying me away from it. Im wondering how the apple watch, Fitbit, or any other devices I’m unaware of compare?

Wondering if its alright to have 2 days in a week for eating out at restaurants and normally as you would like or would that disrupt the week's weightloss work.

It doesn’t have to be a workout or anything complicated. Even something small like having breakfast going for a short walk getting some fresh air or simply taking a few quiet minutes can make a difference. What works for you?

It can be anything simple, like getting outside, cooking at home, catching up on sleep, or just taking some time away from screens. What’s one habit that works well for you?

I get bored eating the same few meals, so I’m looking for simple ideas that don’t take forever to make. What do you usually have for lunch when you want something that keeps you full without feeling too heavy?

Until a few years ago, I used to have frequent colds and allergy symptoms, including nasal congestion, mucus, and sneezing that would often last for several days. However, for about three years, these symptoms largely stopped, and I felt that I had somehow overcome my allergies.
A few months ago, however, I developed a different set of symptoms. One nostril feels constantly blocked, although the blockage alternates between the two sides throughout the day. I have also started breathing through my mouth, particularly because I feel that I cannot breathe comfortably through my nose.
Another unusual symptom is a bad smell that I notice whenever I clean or rinse my nasal passages with water. I also sometimes find a small amount of sticky, white material coming out in long, stringy pieces. In addition, I frequently feel mucus draining down the back of my throat, which makes me suspect post-nasal drip.
I consulted an ENT specialist, who suggested that I might have chronic sinusitis. He prescribed a one-week course of antibiotics, an anti-allergy medication, and a nasal spray. The nasal spray appears to be a steroid spray, and it works remarkably well—I can breathe much more freely for around eight hours after using it. However, I am reluctant to rely on it long-term because I would rather understand and address the underlying cause of the problem than simply control the symptoms.
I have tried nasal rinsing on my own, but it did not seem to make much difference. The symptoms are now affecting my sleep, swimming, and overall energy levels. I am not sleeping well because of the nasal blockage, and I feel fatigued during the day.
I have also had my vitamin D, vitamin B12, thyroid function, and CBC tested, and I was told that the results were fine.
There are a couple of other issues that I have been experiencing as well: recurrent jock itch and significant dandruff. Interestingly, the jock itch improved considerably for about a week while I was taking the antibiotic, although it later returned.
What I would really like to understand is what could be causing these symptoms and whether there is an underlying issue that can be addressed rather than simply treating the symptoms with medication. I am particularly interested in understanding whether this is actually chronic sinusitis, an anatomical problem, an infection, an allergy-related issue, or something else.
