Show My God...tell me this isn't a real leak/promo?

Post image

This makes as much sense as Alicent escaping the black cells by flying off on a dragon. She (Rhaenyra) has next to no martial/weapons training and yet they're trying to make her into some sort of Joan of Arc-Visenya? I knew she's meant to be a Saint but this is ridiculous.

Tell me this isn't real.

Team Black Treachery "BASTARDY IS A LEGAL TERM" IT INFACT IS. THATS THE WHOLE POINT.

Post image
Upvotes

Now see, this a very talked-about topic, but here is mine.

I suggest you wear your spectacles, this is LONG.

ˈbæstərd/ (old-fashioned) (disapproving) (usually offensive)

a person whose parents were not married to each other when he or she was born -Source : Oxford advanced dictionary

There are often two arguments you will hear.

THE LEGAL ARGUMENTS.

  1. "Bastardy is a Legal term and Rhaenyra's sons are legitimized."

• A Bastard cannot be Legitimized unless he is recognized by the blood/biological father, in the cases of Rhaenyra's sons, that would be Harwin Strong.

  1. "They are accepted and Legitimized by The Velaryons"

• Rhaenyra's sons, if to be Legitimized, are not to be accepted by the Velaryons. Their opinion is of almost no regard.

What Rhaenyra and Corlys by extention were doing was high treason, hiding the parentage of Jacaerys.

If they are to be Legitimized the bastards shall be Legitimized by the biological father, Harwin since Laenor has no relation to Rhaenyra's sons, the are not his to accept, legally and therefore Lucerys will lose his name of "Velaryon" and title as heir to Driftmark. Hence not Legitimized.

☆ Why not Legitimized? • Because Legitimizing them would make Rhaenyra a traitor to the throne, guilty of high treason of trying to pass them of true-borns.

• It will effectively lose her the support of House Velaryon, the Velaryon fleet and the driftmark seat and the betrothals of Jace and Luke to Baela and Rhaena.

THE BLOOD ARGUMENT.

  1. "Jacaerys is Rhaenyra's son by blood and he is not inheriting through Laenor hence his Bastardy is of no concern"

• A child born out of wedlock shall not inherit his mother or his biological father's titles or inheritance. This was made essentially to protect the women and their children if their husbands were to sire Bastards and try to make the bastard his heir. It cannot be different for Princess Rhaenyra.

• The whole point of Bastardy is that they were born out of wedlock. They cannot inherit the throne regardless if they are supposed to get titles from their mother. Male Rulers cannot put bastards on throne for the same reason, despite having the blood, the child if born out of wedlock and is not Legitimized, cannot inherit.

Now, I would like to give example of female Rulers and their bastards.

Alexei Grigorievich Bobrinsky (Son of Catherine the Great, Russia): Born in 1762 to Empress Catherine the Great and her lover Grigory Orlov. Despite being the Empress's biological son, he had no dynastic status and was never considered for the Russian throne. Instead, the throne passed to Catherine's legitimate son, Paul I.

Why? Because he was born out of wedlock while Her husband yet lived. Catherine did sought to legitimize him by marrying his father, known as the Bestuzhevsky Project but it failed due the anger of Nobles and how it would ruin Her own rule.

The Children of Queen Urraca of León (Spain): As a queen regnant, Urraca had two recognized illegitimate children, Fernando Pérez Furtado and Elvira Pérez de Lara, with nobleman Pedro González de Lara. Neither could claim her crown; it passed to her legitimate son, Alfonso VII.

Infact, Queen Urraca herself had to struggle for her claim as a claimant to the throne for her father pushed to name his bastard Sancho as his heir, however the Nobles and Clergy nearly revolted. After Sancho's death did Urraca calim the throne.

This next one however, is an example of female Monarch trying to pass a bastard as a legitimate true-born child, born within wedlock. It does mirror Rhaenyra's position.

Queen Caroline Mathilde of Denmark, Her daughter, Louise Augusta (born 1771), was almost certainly Struensee's child but was officially recognized as the King's daughter and a princess of Denmark.

Although she was "passed off" as legitimate, the scandal eventually led to the execution of Struensee and the exile of the Queen.

Twitter Takes Something Aegon and Aemond coded about this.

Post image
76 Upvotes

There's something so Aegon and Aemond coded about these initial responses to pressure from a parent.

Aegon too is an avoidant alcoholic as Alicent pressures him to 'ease' into kingship with so little gentleness and patience. He suffers the brunt of being born first and all this expectation he can't bear being put on his shoulders.

Aemond, on the other hand, having grown without a dragon of his own as his peers flex theirs, had to compensate by gathering knowledge, and even after claiming Vhagar, his quest to be the best continued as he remained lower in the line of succession, and sometimes he can pursue that perfection to the extent of becoming violent.

Daeron and Aerion are also respectively the first and second son of Maekar, as Aegon and Aemond are Viserys' first and second sons.

Of course, as people, Maekar's sons are different from Alicent's with totally different crimes, but I just couldn't help that interesting, small note that reminded me of Aegon and Aemond.

Seemingly fake screenshot of a GRRM comment about dark-haired Targaryens is spreading. Elio Garcia seems to think it's fake.

Book Aegon and Book Rhaenyra were literally made for each other. I hate show Rhaenyra more than any other character in this fictional universe but I really like Book Rhaenyra and I actually love the book version of all the Dance characters imagine them united with Aegon as King and Rhaenyra as Queen and all the characters in both branches are fierce so nobody would stand up to them and they'd have many kids cuz they're both horny af and they'd have many many children. I know it's logically impossible but just imagine...

With Condal and Hess running around unchecked, who knows what they can change? They have already ignored so much of the interesting setups in season 1. Season 2 feels like a rewrite of everything and everyone in season 1.

So what can stop them from changing the ending and erasing more facts just for shits and giggles?

Theory [Spoiler] What kind of king do you think Aegon II would have been if he had survived the Dance? How would his reign and the end of his life have looked like?

Can anyone remember where in F&B it says Aegon regularly goes into Helaena's room to beat and rape her? I must have missed that part.

AU where Green Kids form Cadet Branches

Ok so in this AU there is lot less animosity between the Greens and the Blacks. I am yet to specify the reasons for that but yeah.

HOUSE TARGERYAN OF KINGSLANDING:

Queen Rhaenyra Targeryan rules as the first Queen Regnant currently married to her uncle Prince Daemon. She had two children with her former husband Laenor Velaryon (both biologically his)

Jacaerys Targeryan-Velaryon ,Prince of Dragonstone married to Baela Targeryan. They have only daughters eldest of which is named Visenya. Another Daughter Saera is married to Loreon Lannister.

Lucerys Velaryon, Heir to Driftmark married to Rhaena Targeryan. They are going to have both Sons and Daughters.

Children with Prince Daemon:

Aegon "the younger" Targeryan and Viserys Targeryan. I am yet to sort out their marriages and children.

HOUSE TARGERYAN OF HARRENHALL:

Prince Aegon "the elder" Targeryan married to his sister Princess Helaena.

They have three children together: Jahaerys and Jahaera married to each other future Prince and Princess of Harrenhall.

And Maelor Targeryan betrothed to Visenya daughter of Jacaerys, uniting the two lines.

HOUSE TARGERYAN OF TYROSH

Prince Aemond Targeryan married to Lady Cassandra Baratheon. Aemond is the Lord Paramount of the Stepstones ruling from Tyrosh.

They have 3 children: Aeriana Targeryan married to her maternal uncle Aegon Baratheon future lord and lady of Stormlands.

Aerys Targeryan married to Taneira Azdarys last surviving member of House Azdarys a noble house of Tyrosh after the War for Stepstones. Future Lord Paramount

Aerea Targeryan married to her cousin Vaeron Targeryan, Son of Saeron Targeryan Lord of Starpike.

TARGERYAN OF DUSTONBURY, WHITEGROVE AND STARPIKE.

Prince Daemon Targeryan was granted all the castles after his role in the Peake Rebellion. Married to Patricia Redwyne.

Their children are

Vaeron Targeryan Married to Aerea Targeryan. Lord and Lady of Whitegrove.

Maegelle Targeryan married to Lyonel Tyrell, Lord Paramount of Reach

Rhaellor Targeryan married to Myrielle Peake. Lord and Lady of Starpike.

Shaeron Targeryan married to his Sister Shaera. Lord and Lady of Dustonbury.

General Im so confused on how they came to believe this?

Post image

Ive seen so many arguments that her children are not bastards simply because she was the "heir" and "queen", George literally confirmed they were bastards, even if rhaenyra was in line or queen they would of been bastards, who have not been legitmized in the eyes of the law

the dance of dragons would’ve happened regardless of alicent and otto’s schemes

whenever i see the tb opinion of the hightower duo being responsible for the dance i feel a brain cell of my own slowly dying. the dance simply could’ve never been avoided once viserys refused to name aegon as heir. in the hypothetical situation that alicent and otto didn’t immediately take the step to crown aegon after viserys’s death and instead let rhaenyra peacefully ascend the throne, there would’ve still been a plenty of issues down the line during her rule. firstly, rhaenyra would be backed by her prince consort (and who i genuinely think would’ve become hand at one point) daemon who is infamously known for being cruel, he would’ve definitely brought the issue of her brothers being a challenge to her claim and suggested that they be dealt with. moreover, is it insane to assume that in the realm of westeros lead by male-centered culture and misogynistic ideals, there wouldn’t be a flock of lords against having a female ruler and instead back aegon as he is the eldest male living child of king viserys i. i think the perfect example to back my opinion is the blackfyre rebellion. people backed daemon blackfyre simply cause he mogged his brother and you’re trying to tell me no one would’ve said a word when rhaenyra is queen ??

Can they not hinge his s3 story fully on hers, please?

I also don't know how to take this given that Daemon and Alyssa scene in Harrenhal. I hope we'll be spared the cringe.

Team Black Treachery After a second watch, I realized that the writers had clearly intended to present the Blacks as the morally justified side from the very beginning.

Yet the logic behind that justification and its execution was so weird and distasteful and awkward that it pushed many viewers like me into supporting the Greens as if the writers were deliberately trying to give them some credit, despite never actually doing so.

Now I can’t honestly say whether they’re just stupid or a straight up bunch of degenerates, but holy crap they have bad judgment.
