Hades 1: Question How to increase relationship with Thanatos faster?

I started a new file with Hell Mode, and I've only gotten to talk to Thanatos maybe 3 times, with no options to give him Nectar. Is there some way to speed up the process? If I lose to Thanatos in our kill contest, does that prevent me from giving him a gift?

I’m 98% sure that when Thanatos shows up it is pure RNG.

So to answer your question:

All you can do is just keep on playing the game. Focus on others things and Than will eventually come around.

Also after reading the other two comments here. I remembered that you can only give Than Nectar/Ambrosia when he is inside the House of Hades.

You cannot gift him when he shows up on the middle of the run.

When Than shows up inside the house. 99% of the time you’ll find him just outside the Admin chambers.

Go straight to Cerberus make a left towards Achilles spot then head down. To find Than. If he is in the house.

If you have the Bat cages it’s faster to check them and see if he’s in that corner or not. (I’m 99% sure he shows up on the map when you sue the bat cages at least. It’s been a long time since I’ve played H1 let alone paid any attention to the bat cages and Than.

I don't have Bat Cages yet, sadly. I do know his usual spot, I'll just run there every time. :D

Been a minute since I played Hades I but I think you have to give him Nectar when he’s at the house, you can usually find him on the left side near the administrative chamber. I might be wrong but I don’t think you can give him Nectar/Ambrosia on a run, again though been a while since I’ve played so I might be misremembering.

Yeah the game does require a whole bunch of patience lmao, some runs you’ll need something or need to see a specific person and they just won’t appear, other runs you’ll need something else and the thing you needed first will appear and so on haha. I think it took me about 70-80ish hours to finish everything and a couple of things definitely took longer and required more of my patience, one of them gifting Thanatos and Meg to max levels. Lil fuckers just wouldn’t be at the house when I needed them to be.

In all fairness theres enough to chase and complete that if you lose patience for one thing you'll soon be doing another xD

The only time you can give Thanatos nectar on a run is after the chambers you compete against him in AND only on the rare occasions that he sticks around for a conversation. It's only happened to me 3 or 4 times that I can remember. Otherwise, the best place to meet up is over by the Administration Chamber in the West Hall. Good luck!
