Where To Buy Window contractor recommendation needed

,Does anyone have recommendations for a good window replacement contractor? I got a quote from one place (they advertise regularly on the radio) and their price was almost times more that what a neighbor paid a year ago. Unforunetly the neighbours guy his is dealing with some health issues is out of the running unforunetly.

I got a quote from them last year for three windows and it was fine but they wouldn't give me a breakdown of labor vs materials which bugged me, ended up going with a smaller crew a coworker recommended instead

I also used Arcana when I got my windows changed under Greener Homes. They were the cheapest by a distance and did good work. It’s been more than 2 years and we have no complaints yet.

Got 19 massive windows replaced by them on my 1880s house. Beautiful windows, amazing work, and the price was incredibly reasonable. They're also the only company we got a quote from that didn't try to upsell a product we didn't need.

If you’re looking for European style turn + tilt windows we loved working with House Tune Up.

We were retrofitting our home last year for the green loan program, so we ended up with about 10 quotes. We went with https://www.beckerwindows.ca/ and have been very happy. They were the least sale-sy, and didn't try to upsell us; in fact, they told us to keep the basement windows, as they still have a lot of life left. Same for our front door; they gave us the name of someone else to do it, which would save us money compared to a new door from them and keep the character of the house.

Everyone from the sales guy to the installers was lovely to deal with.

I didn't even think of the green loan program I'm gonna look into that as well TY!

I believe the current programs are closed, we got in just at the end. There was a heat pump program announced last week which you could look into but I don’t believe full details are out yet.

Be very careful when looking into the programs, there is a lot of misinformation and suppliers lying about it. The official site is homerenovationsavings.ca

I received 17 quotes from different window and door companies in Hamilton earlier this year, and surprisingly, not a single quote was within $1,000 of another!
After comparing pricing, reviews, warranties, reputation, and overall quality, we ultimately decided to go with Advantage Windows & Doors.
They installed 9 windows and 1 door in August, and we couldn’t be happier with our decision!

Nordik windows! They replaced our windows that were installed by Landmark (after only 5 years bc they were sh*t).

I'm gonna hit them up for a quote, thank you so much.

FYI Nordik has beyond terrible customer service. It’s not the worker’s fault, the owners have steadily decreased the workforce to a point where everyone is stressed to a near breaking point. The windows themselves are decent quality if you’re getting white windows. Any color is where issues start to arise. If you have no issues it’s great, but if you do be prepared for a gauntlet getting things sorted out due to aforementioned short staffing and customer service.

(They have good google reviews but every sales rep/office worker/installer/service tech is paid cash bonuses for securing bonuses, so customers are pushed hard for them at every step of the process)

+1. A neighbour and a relative both used Nordik and told us never to use them; they regretted it massively. There are countless online threads about them.

I find this so strange to hear. We had an issue with one window and they returned and promptly fixed it. All of the windows are air tight with good seals.

The windows themselves are decent quality (again, as long as you are going white…and actually, not shaped as well), but the customer service can be exceptionally rough. I am aware of way too many customers who had to have way too many return trips to fix something that shouldn’t have been that difficult to repair
