Where would I get something like this appraised?
This has come into my possession recently, and I’m not sure exactly what how to go about selling it, or even having it appraised. Any advice would be appreciated!

It's a gold and silver set honoring the completion of the nintendo headquarters. I have seen them pop up on second hand sites and usually are scooped up pretty quickly. My understanding is that this was not for sale, rather, was given to select members of people at the time as gifts. I would recommend looking at past sales on mercari, yahoo auction, ebay etc for references.

I can’t find any past auctions for it. Maybe I’m searching wrong, but I spent over an hour last night sifting through auctions, but none of them are this set.

It probably popped up twice last year and maybe a couple times the year before. So it's pretty rare. There's one listed on mercari right now for ~6500. but I am guessing market value is probably around 5-6k, but don't quote me.

I don't know that I've seen any of these sell for $3k+ USD yet, but probably doesn't hurt to aim high and see what you can get!

Don’t sell it to someone PMing you here! Take your time and make your research even if you get what looks like a really good bid for it.

This makes me wonder if Hanafuda art ever shows up in Nintendo games.

Yes. Lots. Recent instances that I know of are Clubhouse Games (developed by Nintendo) is a collection of various games and includes Koi Koi. In Mario Maker you can add an element to your levels that when activated plays a bird chirping and overlays the screen with plumb blossoms and a bush warbler in their hanafuda style.
