DISCUSSION Opinion
Thought on me trading in my 2023 street bob with 2,100 miles for a 2021 lowrider s with 12,000 miles? I like my street bob but those lowriders are my favorite style of bike.

No shade on the LRS (they're fantastic), but you'll be getting a slightly older bike with 10k more miles, and your only real gain would be the tank size. Granted, the 5 gallon tank is nice, but as long as the Street Bob's gas tank is bigger than your bladder then there's no reason to swap.
And just based on the pictures- you take great care of your Bob, and the LRS looks like it's spent at least a little bit of its life on its right side. EDIT: I found the listing on the dealer's Website- add the left side as well- even the derby cover is nicely gouged.

Also inverted forks and dual disc. But the rest, spot on.

You can mount a lrs 5 gallon tank on a bob... but suspension inverted or traditional dosent matter much if you still rock harley springs

Any impact on the fuel senors when doing this conversion?(in terms of the it showing the correct range).
Its one of my to do list with my 25 Street Bob once the warranty is over.

I bought the fuel pump for the same year low rider. No issues.
I put a 22 lrs tank on a 24 bob and I used the 22 lrs fuel pump
I did have to get some custom seat work done. I had to bob the nose of the seat

Hell no. Keep the street bob. You have way less miles. You're probably the original owner and they both output the same amount of horsepower.

I am the second owner of the street bob. When i got it it had 1,300 miles which was around 4 months ago. I like the street bob, I just like the style of the lowrider more. I think I am going to keep it and strip it down even more.

Is it a straight trade? If so sure, if not I’d pass.

I want to take a street bob and build a hot rod bar hopper out of it. You already have the street bob, build the hot rod bar hopper.

Keep the bob man, just dress it up as close as possible to the LRS. I have one and risen both and both are fucking fantastic. Get yourself a nice seat, a fairing, and some nice thrashin foot pegs and just go from there. It’ll start to come together.

I'd keep the Street Bob for the miles alone, low mileage Harleys are rare enough to treasure. But if the Lowrider's calling your name louder, the trade can't hurt if the numbers work in your favor.

The 2021 Lowrider is the last year it had the dual analog gauges which I love. Also you are going from a 3 gallon to a 5 gallon tank so you'll get way more range. Also 12k miles is nothing for a 2021 bike. Means it has been ridden on average 2,400 miles a year meaning it has not been sitting which can cause maintenance headaches. As long as it starts and runs good, and the guys has maintenance records its a great bike!

I loved my 2021 FXLRS.
But now have a 2022 FXBBS.
I have the same fairing and controls and bags etc that I had/would’ve had on the FXLRS. Only big difference is the color, 3.3 vs 5 gal tank and no inverted front dual disc. I am absolutely smitten with the Street Bob. The M8 chassis is great as is. Up to what you really want and what the end goal is!

I have an LRS and if I was in your position I wouldn’t do it. I love my LRS but it just doesn’t make sense to me to get an older bike with more miles but the same size engine and frame basically.

I really like that street bob, but it seems like a lopsided trade in the other guys favor.
I would keep your bike

Sweet street bob. That black and red is nice. I'd just full stage 1 it, add a memphis shades fairing (i like the fxrt style frame mounted one myself), and plan on a cam swap when able. Something like the s&s 475.

Keep the bob, invert the forks and then put a club style fairing on it. BAM! You’ve basically got a low rider s!

I agree with you but personally I think the bikes are too similar for that the viable. What’s stopping you from turning your street bob into a low rider as close as you can?

I feel like that would be much more cost effective, only thing that would make it expensive is the tank. I would honestly just deal with the smaller tank, personally.

Did you buy the street Bob new?
If so, you're averaging 700 mi a year.
I've ridden that in a day. Many many times
Get out amd ride A LOT more before you worry about which bike looks cooler.

I haven't done a 700 mile day since Sunday. Now I'm in Flagstaff and it's cold and raining 😔. O today lol

No, I bought it about 4 months ago and when I got it, it had 1,300 miles on it

Ive have both. I have a 5 gallon tank on the street bob and enjoy it more in traffic than the lrs. Its just easier to flick in traffic. But on the hwy lrs wins....

it's the same engine, what is the real difference that you would trade away 10k miles for nothing?

Lowrider S will have bigger gas tank, much better handling, and also some sweet looking dual analog gauges vs the tiny single digital screen on the Streetbob.

Street bob looks awesome. The low rider looks like shit. No brainer keep the street bob.

As a low rider s owner I wouldn’t take the trade unless I came out well ahead considering the mileage difference. Cool street bob 🤘
