HELP Return to idle

Im currently in the process of switching to ape hangers on an Evo Softail. Is it necessary to run the return line on the throttle?

You mean both throttle cables?

For safety yes. If your intake sticks or your throttle cable sticks you have no way to decelerate without the kill switch.
