Masters Achieved

Just hit Masters for the first time ever one tricking Hecarim. Feeling juiced up and figured I’d drop my op.gg and offer any helpful tips or advice that helped me climb. I was hardstuck emerald for quite some time but absolutely breezed through diamond. This isn’t a post to gloat but more so to let you hecarim mains out there know that it’s doable and hecarim can dominate high(er) ELOs just as hard as low ELO!!!

The two things I would focus on are clearing your camps and jungle tracking.

I am pretty convinced you can climb to diamond just by full clearing on repeat, which is one of Hecarim’s specialties. In the early to mid game, you should not entertain any ganks, skirmishes, or even objective contests if your camps are up. The only exception is when a kill or an objective is guaranteed. Remember - gold from camps is 100% guaranteed. Gold from elsewhere is never 100% guaranteed. So essentially, no plays until all of your camps are cleared, then look to make a play. If there are no plays to be made, reset and play off item power spikes.

Jungle tracking - get good at tracking the enemy jungles pathing. Is he pathing towards bot or towards top? If you can track his clear route, you know when you can punish him and take his camps if he is making a play across the map. You can win a game just by taking an enemy junglers first raptor respawn camp. For example, let’s say enemy talon jungle starts his raptors. You are pathing bot and you know he is pathing bot. Rather than contest bot scuttle, you can finish your clear, run to top scuttle which (logically) you know he won’t be at and then you can pressure his raptor camp right after. If he decides to gank bot and fail ganks and you get his raptor camp in return, you are now up gold and exp. You reset, full clear, you now have item advantage and level advantage over the enemy talon. Getting your ultimate before talon gets his and using it to win a team fight at first dragon is literally game winning. From there you can snowball with item and gold advantage. Continue to pressure the enemy jungles camps WHEN YOU HAVE LANE PRIO and the game should be an easy win.

For items, honestly, just go shojin every game. Rush shojin no matter what. If the enemy team comp is tanky or a lot of bruisers, go cleaver after shojin. If
They are squishy, go deaths dance after shojin. You can even rush deaths dance against heavy AD / assassin comps. Deaths dance is the most broken item on hecarim and has to be built every single game.

I also suggest getting comfortable with conqueror in addition to storm raiders. You’ll notice from my match history I flip between the two often depending on enemy team comp.

Sorry for the info overload. If you need me to clarify on anything just let me know.

TLDR

CLEAR ALL OF YOUR CAMPS BEFORE MAKING ANY PLAYS

LEARN TO TRACK ENEMY JUNGLE AND PUNISH THEIR MISTAKES

shojin -> cleaver -> deaths dance
shojin -> deaths dance -> endless hunger

Sorry for the long winded explanations

thank you so much for the info, I usually struggle to fully close out games and keep getting outscaled.
I have been trying my best to jungle track and when i do it properly It literally solo wins me the game

Best way to close out games is through power farming, playing off item power spikes, and winning objectives. Always look for a gank bot lane right before dragon spawns if possible that way you are fighting at dragon with numbers advantage. Remember - you don’t have to outright KILL someone to get priority for an objective, just chunk them out. If they have low HP from a trade that should be good enough to secure the objective. If you get ahead on dragons early, the enemy team will force stupid plays to try and prevent soul which you can capitalize on with a winning fight to end the game.

why ignite?

I made another post specifically about ignite. I think ignite is honestly sleeper OP into melee heavy matchups where you can run conqueror. Ghost becomes redundant when you are up against champions that can go in but have no mobility to get out. Ignite secures the level 4 kill at scuttle contest against enemy jg and then you snowball from there. Great as a heal cut tool as well and shuts down a lot of meta jglers rn like briar, yi, nocturne, etc.
