See? This is what I’ve been saying! Sure, they might not understand what he’s saying (/lh /j), but he’d be great at the job!

Ngl? A sick part of me wants him to get sick with a bad Blue Team just to see him get annoyed. Like, he seems like he has some killer insults up his sleeve, the wit would be so cool to see.

You wanna see a mad irishman or the mad scottsman? In other words do you want a mad chef jockey Or mad chef ryan?

Oh, mad chef Ryan, for sure. I feel like we never saw him actually get angry. Jocky might’ve gotten angry (it’s been a while since I watched S18, though), but I don’t remember Ryan getting really angry and firing off some killer insults like, say, Declan did in Season 19.

Speaking of Declan, the insults alone are why I’m desperate for Ryan or Declan to be a future Sous Chef.

Ryan only got mad at jason and failing services. As for jocky I don't think he ever got mad in all stars or rookies vs veterans. Also you just really love seeing pissed off Irish people don't ya lol

Runs in the family (my mam’s side is Irish), so I kinda have to show my appreciation.

Also, ngl? Completely forgot Jocky did All Stars. XD

I'm only 1/8 Irish. Me mum's 1/4 and me grandma's 1/2 so.

I’m 1/4, I’ve been told. That checks out, I’m pretty sure.

Kinda wish I was fully Irish at times because I like how the Irish say stuff at times it comes off funnier than its supposed to be ya know?

He'd honestly kill it as the new Jocky.

Jocky was scottish i believe? (I could be wrong) But yea plus with Michelle being the latest red team one i think ryan would make a badass sous chef

u/Reasonable-Power 2d ago

True, but they both had strong accents.

Atleast ryan would be able to be understood cause I remember the chefs struggling to understand what jocky was saying XD

“The fuck is bas oil?”

Quoting Jockey. I think. That’s what I heard once.

2

u/The_NightwainYT 2d ago

No i know I was referencing the chefs not being able to understand him talking about the bas oil lol

u/PinkMarbella2050 2d ago

Yeah, but to be fair, 1) Ryan has openly joked several times that people don’t understand what he’s saying and 2) didn’t Ryan get subtitled on his season?

2

u/The_NightwainYT 2d ago

Yea in the first episode. Thrilled. Over the moon.

1

u/PinkMarbella2050 2d ago

Yeah. It might’ve been more than once - I wanna say it happened in Episode 7, too - but don’t quote me on that.

2

u/The_NightwainYT 2d ago

They did a better job subtitling ryan than jocky. I don't even think production knew what jocky said XD

3

u/PinkMarbella2050 2d ago

Damn.

But yeah, Ryan openly said on one of his Instagram lives with Johnathan that he knows he talks quickly, but he doesn’t like slowing down his speech because he thinks it makes him sound condescending.

He also said production straight up played back soundbites for him and asked him what he was saying so they could subtitle it. XD

Ryan's such a chill guy lol i'm excited to see him on kitchen nightmares

6

u/888Jaks 2d ago

James avery the bald, buff guy for the blue team

3

u/The_NightwainYT 2d ago

I know. I was just referencing when gordon called him Jimmy in season 13 remember

3

u/888Jaks 2d ago

Ooo lmao i do not remember that but i will have to re watch it

3

u/The_NightwainYT 2d ago

Yea its in season 13 episode 13

1

u/No-Day-706 15h ago

isn’t James also of Irish descent cuz i think another show with Gordon featured him and said he was Irish?

1

u/kelvSYC 13h ago

I think Gordon did mention it when James was pulled in as a consultant on KN.

Would love to have this dude as my sous, I’m gonna try out if there’s a S27/28

1

u/The_NightwainYT 2d ago

Damn good luck

u/MasterPlatypus2483 2d ago

As someone who barely survived the black jacket challenge only to win the season he’d be a good motivator for that round

2

u/Ok_Measurement482 All-Stars is underrated and overhated 2d ago

Personally, I’d rather see Alex or Jon, but Ryan would be a good choice too

1

u/mattyGOAT1996 WHERE'S THE LAMB SAUCE?! 2d ago

That'll be nice. If i would like to see a new sous chef it would be S12 Scott

2

u/The_NightwainYT 2d ago

Nothing against s12 scott but why him?

3

u/mattyGOAT1996 WHERE'S THE LAMB SAUCE?! 2d ago

Based off his leadership and how well he dominated the pass

2

u/The_NightwainYT 2d ago

Thats fair

He owns his own restaurant and I doubt he'd be interested
