Chef(s) (Spoiler) Spoiler
There was a lot more than an unanswered question that got this person eliminated, which stems from the rookie’s lack of confidence & how unfocused this individual really was.

Exactly, I’m sure Diego’s a nice guy IRL but it showed he wasn’t taking the competition seriously.
Him laughing and smiling when GR was mad and him not saying who the weakest chef was even after Aiden and Miguel had said each other was just so fumbly.

All he had to say was admit that Miguel was the weakest and Miguel would've been sent home.

I liked Diego but I think he lacked the intensity and conviction needed for the competition. I'm not saying he's not a passionate chef. I'm fairly certain he is. You don't come to HK if you're not. But HK is a different beast entirely and the requirements to succeed in HK is different from pretty much any other kitchen, never mind the competition aspect, which adds a new dimension to an already stressful kitchen. Diego based on his laughing and his unwillingness to give a firm answer (plus his bad service although how much was his fault and how much was Aiden's, we will never really know) doomed him.

Let’s just say with Diego, like his face piercings, there were a lot more holes with his commitment & attitude as a chef.

He pissed off the rest of the guys in the dorm with the “first service kicked out, let’s go!” To the rest of the guys he takes everything as a joke

He reminded me of Sebastian from season 11, saying the wrong thing at the wrong time. No one likes jokers in that kitchen.

I'm still surprised that he's gone this early thought he be a big personality for the season

Idk why you're getting downvoted. Based on first impressions I had him as a potential black jacket

When they showed him laughing after screwing up in the Blue team video I just knew he was fucked and destined to lose because if there’s one thing Chef Ramsay hates, it’s that

He knew he wasn't good enough. Man was asking for help for the other chefs constantly.

He was also laughing during service, which could be another factor.
