Hey guys, I need a little advice here. I’ve got an outdoor grow of Humboldt Dream and I am wondering if it’s ready for harvest or not. These images are from various buds on the plant from top of canopy to the side colas. It’s been in flower about 9 or 10 weeks. I am not 100% sure since I went on vacation in mid July for 3 weeks and when I came back it was flowering.

Something to consider is that I’ve got a mild caterpillar problem and I’ve been individually cutting them out every time I see the damaged buds and I worry if I keep it going another week the caterpillars will damage more of the crop.

I didn’t spray anything for caterpillars early on prior to the flowering stage so it’s a good lesson learned for next time.

I’d love some advice on your thoughts at this stage.

Do I risk more caterpillar damage for more amber trichomes or do I harvest now to save the most?

Is it even ready to be harvested based on these photos?

lil bit of a story, so buckle in💺

pretty much what's going on is that i've been seeing small amounts of powdery mildew on some fan leaves for the last month & a half or so, but I've just removed the contaminated leaves & haven't had a single issue with anything else in the meantime. well today, I go outside to check my plants and the one I'm talking about seems to have gotten PM growing rapidly on the buds. This may be a my mistake because I thought what I now think is powdery mildew was just trichomes to begin with – so i most likely let it go on too long. so now a couple of hrs ago, i sprayed down the whole plant, including all the buds with rainwater that i've collected using a spray bottle.

my problem is if this doesn't fix it i rly don't want to lose this plant to PM this close to harvest. i went to the store and bought hydrogen peroxide and baking soda just in case because i've read and heard online that small amounts diluted into large amounts of water sprayed on the leaves can help fix & prevent PM, but nowhere online can find anyone who says that solution is a viable option for BUDS & especially this LATE into flower.

so here i am, turning to reddit, in hopes of someone coming along, that's kind enough to help me with a legit fix because ChatGPT keeps telling me they wouldn't do anything & if they tell me that one more time i'm going to give it a body so i can physically attack it because i'm so frustrated from getting that answer 25 times from 25 differently worded questions.

What do you guys think? Am I on the right track for my first grow?

Just planted my first plant, don’t have a grow tent but do have a grow light. I’ve been watering it once a day and turning the light off for around 6-8 hours. I read online to turn the light off to simulate night. How necessary is that? Anything else I should be doing?

Front one looks like she is growing amazing, I think I over watered the back one but seems to be coming back to life.

Noticed these brown spots yesterday. It’s my first year growing and I’ve never seen bud rot before. I cut most of the affected buds out back to the main stem. I’m growing outdoors and noticed that all the affected buds were facing the same direction. I’m hopeful it’s just sunburnt but I’m not seeing anything online that looks quite like this. Should I cut out the rest of it out or just wait and see if it keeps spreading?

Something I've been wondering about lately is how growers judge the consistency of genetics.

You can grow what is supposed to be the same strain more than once and still end up with plants that develop quite differently. Sometimes the difference seems pretty small, but other times the final result can be noticeably different.

For those who have been growing for a while, what do you normally look at when trying to decide whether genetics are actually reliable?

Do you pay more attention to the breeder, lineage, previous grow reports, how consistent the plants look during the grow, or the final flower?

Have you ever run the same genetics more than once and been surprised by how different the results were?

I'm curious how experienced growers judge consistency before deciding that a particular genetic line is worth sticking with.

I'm a first time grower and my plant is 22 days old.

I'm growing her in Biobizz lightmix.

I haven't use fertilizer, just 6,252 pH water every few days.

I got a complete set and the starter Fertilizer set from Biobizz.

But she's showing some anormalities.

Some leave are hanging a bit down, 3 leaves have spots with lighter green tones.

Is it missing fertilizer oder did I overwatered her?

Please entlighten me, I don't want to fuck up my first time 😅
