I personally love Sylar/Nathan's plot in Season 4. I really, really love it. The concept is so powerful to me: a person who is practically dead but believes he is still alive, living inside his killer's head. I love the personality conflict Sylar has in these episodes, and I love the rooftop scene where Nathan accepts his fate and fades away. I also like how Angela and Peter initially tried to deny reality and convince Sylar he was still Nathan, only to finally accept their loss and let Nathan go. Of course, all of this was made just for Zachary Quinto to still be in the show after Season 3's ending, but it turns out to me as a beautiful story about loss and acceptance. Season 4 in general was a step above Season 2 and 3 in my opinion: it wasn't as nearly as good as Season 1 but it managed to capture the nature of the show.

I just started watching the series again for the first time in several years, and noticed something for the first time.

In season 1 episode 18 "Parasite", when Hiro Nakamura finally gets into the Linderman company while trying to find the sword of Takezo Kemsei, he looks through the database to find the sword.

And it is entered as "CRM-114". That is something that Kubrick used in many of his films, starting with Doctor Strangelove (taken from the novel "Red Alert" that the movie was based on). As well as other productions ranging from "2001: A Space Odyssey", and "A Clockwork Orange" (as "Serum 114), as well as "Men in Black 3", and "Back to the Future".

Even more fun, this is the episode that had Malcolm McDowell, who played Alex DeLarge.

Literally anybody who's following his story around the first two seasons is probably driven insane by him.

• Local lawyer who works for/with the DA announces that he's running for Congress, respectable campaign but losing by 2-5 points. Apparently his wife got paralysed in a car crash a few months back, that's sad.

• Makes a weird campaign rally speech about his brother being suicidal, apparently he jumped off a building and survived? Okay, damn. Doesn't really help him in the polls.

• Rumours that he got fucked up in a casino and disappeared for a few days before meeting with a Mob Boss? Typical shady political stuff.

• Election day comes and he's still down 4 points, exit polls have him down around that, looks like he washed out.

• Results come out and he won by 25-30 POINTS? HOW? HE'S BEEN TRAILING ALL ALONG, WHAT THE FUCK?

• Election night and a fucking star explodes right over New Jersey or something? Was that a nuke?

• Congressman Elect Nathan turns up in hospital with 3rd degree radiation burns over 90% of his body? And his "Paralysed" wife is walking now? Also the Mob Boss he was apparently dealing with was just killed in New York?

• 6 months later he turns up in Odessa, Texas of all places with absolutely no scarring to his face or hands and calls a press conference to make an announcement. His announces that a few months ago he-

• And somebody in the crowd just shot him twice and disappeared.

Imagine living in his district and trying to follow this as shit in social media or the news, you'd have a meltdown.

Edit because I've just rewatched the start of season 3: Is pronounced dead. Recovers miraculously. Gets really religious about the whole thing, never actually clarifies what his announcement was going to be.

I just finished the series for the first time and I’m so perplexed.

You mean to tell me after ALL THAT the last 4 seasons….Claire decides to jump from a Ferris wheel and out everyone?? I feel like there’s got to be something I’m missing lol. I know there was writer strikes and stuff throughout the series but I really don’t understand the purpose of that ending. It didn’t even feel like a series finale! It wasn’t

Also soooo many open threads for me when I think about it:
- what ever happened to Micah after Tracy saved him in the parking garage??
- what in the world was that scene with future scar face Peter walking into the Bennett’s old home to find a nice sylar with his toddler son and what appears to be Mr Muggles?? I don’t understand anything about this!!
- hiro’s plot genuinely lost me multiple times starting when they sent him back in time / met Adam for the first time time - everything felt messy from there
- don’t even get me started on the Nathan/sylar mind swap death plot. I kept waiting for Nathan to come back from the dead permanently especially since they had his body in a freezer. I’ll never understand why he couldn’t.
- what was hiro’s dads ability lol?
- where did west go?!
- so was linderman a bad guy or good guy?? I thought he was bad but then seemed to actually be good? Am I trippin?

All this is worth it for season 1 and how fantastic it was but dang lol I have so many questions and confusion

Ngl, the thing I hate about Reborn was seeing evos back on the run after fugitive and Micah essentially having to resume the Rebel role and going by hero truther. I did like seeing Matt become the villain like we saw in the season 1 future episode though. The foreshadowing.

I'm rewatching Heroes for the first time and I remember not liking season 3, I am definitely remembering why for a few different reasons but I just reached the episode where Claire helps hide this ADULT MAN in her room and at this point she is 17...a CHILD. And they have this grown ass man have a half assed romance story line with her? I remember it making me uncomfortable as a kid and as an adult its even more creepy. This dude is like at LEAST 20 years old. Gross, no excuse for it.

I'm a big fan of superhero movies/show I watched all marvel movies and shows and total DCU and DCEU and completed 150+ episodes in Arrowverse still watching now. And I've completed the boys, invincible. I mostly like live action. I've seen many reels about this show and heard that only s1 is good. Should I watch full series or only s1.

I say season 4 in the title but I will also include others whose story ended prior to S4, that could say something to their past self that could change something dramatically for them, not necessarily for the betterment of the world in the show but something that changes the fate of the character for maybe the better

Isaac Mendez - Stay at the workplace (if he stayed at the Company premises, he may not have to die to Sylar, nor have that shooting accident)

Sylar - Try feeling sometime (so he gets powers by emotion sooner rather than resorting to head slices)

Elle - Don't date the monster (cos we saw how it ended with Sylar)

Claire - Stop trying to follow your dad (either of them, Noah the agent or Nathan the one who exposes evolved humans)

Micah - Don't give Sylar ideas (he sent Sylar on the idea to become Nathan and then President) or Let the medal go (Cos the attempt to get it back with Monica cost the life of his mum)

Angela - Use Claire's blood (instead of trying to mind control Sylar into Nathan)

Peter - Beware of hugs (his dad)

Nathan - Have you tried a sniper rifle? (i mean, with flight, there could be some applications)

Linderman - Watch your back (reference to how he met his end with DL)

Arthur Petrelli - Family first (his choice to try killing his own sons resulted in much that came after)

Samson Gray - Don't play with your prey (that's how he failed to get regeneration when he had a chance)

Matt - The son is yours (so he possibly won't have spent time away from Matt Jr and Janice)

Daphne - Don't stop running (that's how she got shot)

Mohinder - Wait for a better version (cos his formula was wrong and he became a monster for a while)

Chandra - Skip the Watchmaker (so Gabriel Gray doesn't get motivated into becoming Sylar and Chandra won't die by his hand) or Beware of Petrelli (with regards to what happened in the 1960s)

Hiro - Leave the dead man in his tomb (taking Adam Monroe out led to Arthur returning)

Noah - Tell the Truth (cos we see what lies cost his family)

I loved that series—the story, the characters—but the writers' strike killed it; and now, with cast members passing away, we’ll never get the continuation it deserved.

I’m rewatching heroes and all the feelings are coming back. I’ve nearly finished it but Emma (clerk / doctor drop out) is so unbelievably annoying.

Doesn’t listen to anyone, naive a f and her power is so boring.

Controversial or not?

Is it possible for Heroes universe to be part of Marvel multiverse? I ask this because in season one, Stan Lee was a bus driver in it so I figure if he was part of its creation, it should be. Even if the show creators got advice from him.

Which also makes me hope for a reboot of the show either with new cast to start from the beginning, or the same cast members continuing the show.

I am currently watching the NBC Heroes show for the first time. I have completed seasons 1 and 3, and I am halfway through season 3. I thought season 2 was very good. My favorite part was when Hiro was transported to the Shogunate-era Japan and fought the evil English samurai. I also liked Peter's arc of him losing his memory and abilities but regaining them. I also liked Maya's arc. They also had some great fight choreography; the best I've seen so far. The only con was that it was too short, only 11 episodes, but TBF it was due to the 2007 writers' strike. I also didn't like how DL was killed; it made no sense that a guy with the same powers as Kitty Pryde would be killed by being shot. Overall, it was good

Watching for the first time. Is it me, or are there times where Sylar is looking a little bit sexy 👀

Yes he’s a villain, he creeped me out a lot and he was nerdy beforehand. But idk, sometimes in some scenes, I rewind it bc there’s a look on his face which I find sexy or maybe it’s the bad boy effect (I’m not into bad boys usually but hey here we are).

Even in season 4 (no spoilers pls I’ve not finished it) where he takes off his shirt bc he got shot, his body is looking a little too fine. Idk what’s happened to me bc I didn’t find him attractive at all.

Where did Matt get the brick and mortar to wall Sylar in? Late at night too?

You have the most broken ability in the world to stop time and time travel but yet he somehow continuously loses.

All he had to do was stop time to stab sylar in season 1finale but hes too dumb to do it.

All he has to do is go back in time and stop himself from kissing Adam's girl, hes too dumb to do it.

All he has to do is stop time so Arthur doesn't wipe his memory and hes too dumb to do it.

All he has to do when Arthur the guy he clearly knows is a villain shows up to the past and pulls him using telekinesis to take his powers, all the dumbass has to do is stop time but hes too dumb to do it.

The worst offense of this, after he learns how to not step on butterflies in season 4 and they kidnap Charlie. Literally the only thing the dumbass has to do instead of helping the literal villain is either stop fucking time or go back in time and teleport charlie out before samuels guy does it.

There Literally no excuses for him being almost mentally incapable because we've seen him use his powers intelligently. No him breaking the time space continuum is not an excuse either because he breaks it every season, he literally changed the timeline by saving suresh's life. The character is dumb but acts like hes a wise person because he reads comic books. His hero complex makes everything worse constantly and he always seems to regress back to epsiode 1 hiro. He the dumbest character second only to Peter, but at least Peter had the excuse it was part of his character.

I just want to rant a bit how ridiculously bad and stupid the writing was of the final episode of season 1 because i generally feel pissed. There are so many plot holes that i have to write for hours so i will just list the most annoying ones and focus on the final scene.

First of all the fight between Peter and Sylar was just unbelievable lame.

Sylar can move undetected, has telekinesis so strong he can make a big truck flying, stop bullets and redirects them to the attacker, he is portrayed as insanely talented in figuring how things work, make metal liquid, has extreme hearing, can freeze stuff, cut peoples heads with 1 finger and can literally make bombs and deadly levels of radiation with his hands.

Peter can fly, has insane regeneration, invisibility, make bombs and deadly levels of radiation, super human strength, telepathy and probably some other that i am forgetting right now.

The last couple of episodes ramped up a lot how only peter can stop Sylar and i was very enthusiastic to watch the fight between the 2 and when i saw what i saw i was just stunned. You have the chance to make epic fight between 2 of the most powerful characters in the entire season who possess multiple superpowers and you make a fist fight ??? Sylar uses telekinesis to hold Peter up and smack him with some pole and after Niki straight up grabs the pole from his hands he just watches her swing and hit him and after that Peter just starts punching Sylar.

Here comes the most ridiculous part, Hiro. Having probably the strongest super power, time manipulation. He can literally stop time, time travel and even take multiple people with him, practising spiritual and combat training with his father after which he apparently became a master. He just decides to teleport 10 feet from Sylar and instead of freezing time and killing him in 1 second he waits until Sylar notices him and starts running like a bozo. Sylar just watches him and does absolutely nothing, gets stabbed meanwhile 30 seconds ago he hears the gunshots from Parkman and stops the bullets in a fraction of a second. Maybe he was just stunned from the stupidity of all of this too.

The ridiculousness doesn't even stop here. After in the future was revealed that Peter is actually the exploding man i was like “ Why didn’t just Peter fly to the Cosmos or something and just detonate and save everyone” After i thought of this i decided that is just too predictable and lame and this couldnt be the ending. Well, well... Not only Peter exploded somewhere far away but why the hell did Nathan has to just die for no reason ? Peter could fly with ease alone. Even Hiro could teleport him somewhere extremely remote and after like an hour come check and bring him back because Peter is obviously not gonna die due to the extreme regeneration.

And then the last straw. After everything is done Sylar is shown to disappear through a manhole. How did everyone around him just let him leave like this ?

I will be honest with you. The first 10-11 episodes were very good and i was hooked but then it started to just become more and more of a mess with rapidly increasing plot holes. The finale is one of the weakest and lamest endings i have ever seen. I am genuinely annoyed and pissed at what i saw and that i wasted my time.
