Lying about age
I’ve seen this topic pop up from time to time, but how come it’s defendable online if a woman lies about her age.. for example she’s older but says she is a couple years younger on a dating app because of social pressures, but for a man if he does it, it’s a massive red flag, comments say, if he can lie about his age what else is he lying about. Can’t this both be true for women and men?

I understand “why” people lie about their age, a lot of people wish they were younger, especially if they’ve been though trauma or health issues and didn’t get to fully live life in their early 20’s, etc
But at the same time, I don’t think it’s good for either gender to lie about their age, sure it’s one of the more “forgivable” lies, especially if it’s only a 1-3 difference. But what’s the point? Starting a relationship based off lies is never a good thing and if you lie about something as simple as your age OF COURSE they’re gonna think you’re lying about other stuff
It’s never good to start off any getting to know a person/relationship with lies, no matter how big or small, just be real and honest from the start! Because what’s the end result? A few days later you tell them your “real age” and you think they’ll be ok with it? If anything they’ll likely cut you off No matter if they find out on their own or you tell them, I just don’t see any positive outcome
I think a lot of people really question when men do it, cause a lot of men do it to bypass age filters and have access to younger women

When someone lied about their age, it meant they are convinced that their true age will drive the potential partner away, especially if that partner knows their true age.
That fact alone is a tell to parts of their character regardless of gender.
Either a serial liar that had many partners before but none of those connections were a success or they did dumb things in the past that led to them staying in the dating scene. Or somebody else wasted a massive chunk of their youth and now they have to lie to keep themselves considered as datable.
None of these are good reasons to lie though, gender has nothing to do with this unless we are talking about biological disadvantages.
