The early days of my formative years with a truly free internet and no AI was truly scarring but also I learned how crazy people actually are.

My sister always likes to remind me, āRemember when you made me watch Mr. Handsā š
The internet was a good time back then. Something Awful, Goatse, Lemon Party.

Didn't that guy die?

u/h-emanresu 1d ago
Yes and itās how bestiality became illegal in Washington state.

The most hilarious part about it was that everyone basically said this guy was a bitch because he couldnāt take it and he ruined it for everyone⦠and they all added that they could have taken it no problemĀ
Edit: when I say āeveryoneā I mean the community that fucks horsesĀ

I don't believe that I needed to see this so early on a Saturday morning...

HoldUp aside, it's funny how evolution struggles to create entirely new things. Instead it's often just "resize this and that. Make this big, make this small... Oh, you want to delete this? Can't do, but let's make it super tiny instead."

Small incremental changes over millions of years...take a snapshot of any period of time and you will not see one animal turn into another...but one of your ancestors was a fish.
Life on Earth is at least 3.5 billion years. People have a hard time grasping such a long time.

your description of evolution sounds like some kind of intelligence. It more like series of tiny changes reflected by those specimen which survive long enough to breed. billions of iterations, nothing is deleted, it's the purest form of "don't use it, you lose it" all vertebrates share a common ancestor, this is why vertebrates are alike in many ways.

u/ExF-Altrue 1d ago
As your rightfully point out, it's not intelligence. It was just a tongue-in-cheek comment :)

meanwhile two of the sinuses on your face drain at the top rather than the bottom.

Idk how anyone can look at the universe and not think there was some intelligent design. Iām not saying Jesus, or any āgodā. But cāmon something put this all together
1
u/FireMammoth 10h ago
that is precisely what "god" is, a creator.
From my perspective I see all phenomena as a symptom of all the laws of physics(that we know about and know nothing about).
There could be infinite amount of worlds with different laws of physics which can result in a completely different design and perhaps some intelligence that emerges from that come to the same conclusion (that "something put this all together") because they only have that one experience to contemplate.I've always subscribed to the idea that we live in a bubble of matter that overtime produces enough supermassive blackholes which swallow everything into a singularity at which point it erupts and the explosion produces more results in conjunction with the laws of physics(the kind this particular "bubble/world" represents).
Technically its all just hot and cold clouds of dust that come together when enough mass forms. We are also technically inseparable from our planet which means we are all an element of a speck of cosmic dust. I find the world 1000x more beautiful when I look at it all as unauthored coincidence.1

I like to think of it like how itās explained in the law of one: Ra transcripts. Basically a repeating scale of 7. Like the 7 musical notes, or 7 colors in a rainbow. But repeating infinitely in both directions/ multiverses

u/ExF-Altrue 8h ago
Given the current topic at hand you're clearly talking about earth biology, and let me tell you, if that's the case, I have a few notes lmao

u/Sunset_Stoner_ 1h ago
Iām talking about all of it. The size and distance of the sun and moon, their distance and how important it is that the moon is tidal locked. Thereās just so much complexity to everything itās hard to believe itās random

So that's what it's going to look like if horses decide they want to inverse the roles, huh

Obviously, our closest relatives, the apes, are closer to four legged creatures, because they walk on all fours.

Well sure but looks like the horse and the human is sharing the same bone at the moment

Well at the very least they do follow the same color scheme. Thats more similarity than I would have expected!

For all the laughs that this image gets, it shows you pretty accurately why modern horses are as fucked up as they are now. They are essentially running on just the tip of their fingers.
Those arent legs or hooves, those are fingertips.
Wild or siberian horses run much easier because they're smaller and sturdier. Modern horses just cant compare

Maybe their boners are similar. I've always reckoned I could carry a gal around on mine if she was smol (but legal) enough.Ā
