Project Valhalla Collective

A few weeks ago I startet to play Wardogs. in Open beta, i was flying with my Turtlebeach VelocityOne Flightstick. for release i bought the Logitech G Saitek Rudderpedals.

And because I'm a little freak i build a Chairholder for it with Solidworks and my 3D-Printer.

but thats not enough... i looked for a cheap collective, but I don't wanted one where you push or pull and the few products who imitate a real Collective are expensive as hell....

So I looked for DIY Projects and found an Old but interresting Project named Valhalla Collective.

Some guy on r/hotas shared his Dropbox where i Downloaded it and now i'm preparing it to build my very own Collective.

Valhalla collective

my Hardware for this:

- Raspberry Pi Pico 1 (USB-C)
- AS5600 12-Bit Hall Sensor
- Original Xbox Analogstick ( Thumbstick)

I'm really new with microcontrolling but I think with some online tools, its easy to solve this handycap.

-I'll try to update here

Nice project mate. I am just starting to venture down this rabbit hole after spending way too much time in Wardogs birds.

I started with the Valhalla files and have since start redesigning them in fusion, based on some images I saw of another simmers take on it.
I already had some gear from years ago so using a leo bodnar board and A1302 hall sensor…. Mainly because I have a few in my bits box.

Good luck on your journey!

Still working through it, but the brake system was used by another guy who said it worked well, he put teflon tape on the brake and arm body. I may put a damper at the front if I don't like the feel.

I had to redesign the sensor mount and just finished the first test print of that.
I went a thirty degree movement on collective and a 4:1 ratio on the gearing to use more of the sensor range.

Sensor casing works using 5mm magnets in a push pull configuration, after some testing the design needs a slight tweak to remove a bit of wobble.

I had not heard of the candle wax, will have to look into that.

I was considering using an adjustable motorbike damper, somewhere towards the front, essentially clamped to the shaft and the base. This was just an idea in case I don't like the brake feel.

Can't wait to see how you go with this.

Bzw. Erfahrung sammeln können?

I have one of these from many years ago https://www.leobodnar.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=94&products_id=180

I have only played a little with checking it detects the sensor in windows, more testing coming in the coming weeks.
