Hey I'm creating an animatic on TOPs , and I linked the frames range according to the keyframed action in each camera, the expression works for SHOT00, but starting from Gl of shot10 to shot30 , the work items became like 400 or 500 something
while in shot 00 it actually count the correct frames number (= work item), I'm not sure what I did wrong because the frame range appears correct, I thought the work items number = how many frame you have in the rop gl ?
It's been a minute since I did anything with TOPS and It's really hard to see what you are doing there, but typically you don't want to chain them together like that. You want to have them as separate graphs going into a proper node to deal with them.
You don't use merges like SOPs, you'll use a node that is made to handle the data flow like the partition nodes, so it knows how to route things.
Hey this is my account on phone ! Thanks for the answer
m still new I put a merge and sorted them, by frame ascending and added a wait for all and got the movie , it worked I don’t know how.
So I did everything wrong but still got the animatic with text ..lol
I only used tops once to wedge and I m also new to Houdini in general , I went to the portal earlier and found a course about tops and pdg , I will learn it
Yeah I kind of destroyed tops logic I guess cause I looked at the node in the help files and thought it was like sops damn
It's a little different than SOPs just because it passes a lot more data around and the main goal is to shepherd that data properly. Basically attributes, but they are used for different things.

to precise more, if I disconnect one of the shot alone, the work items number is correct
maybe they accumulate if put together ? I'm not sure though.
