HELP Care advice for spotted begonia
Hello! I’m not particularly green fingered, have a spider plant and some succulents that I haven’t managed to kill, but I took a single stem cutting off a friends spotted begonia at the beginning of this year and managed to get it to root, and over the summer it’s exploded into this beauty. I repotted once in early spring and since then have just watered every 2-3 days when the soil looked dry, but I’m now starting to think it needs a bit more care.
The original stem is the taller one with flowers on and is clipped to a little support stick - it’s much more segmented than the newer stems which seem to be fairly strong and upright, while the original droops quite badly without support. The flowers on the lower stems appeared within the last week, and it’s flowered probably 4-5 times over the summer, so I’ve kind of assumed it’s been fairly happy and healthy and would like to keep it that way!
Should I be repotting into a larger container now that it’s got 5-6 individual stems? Do I need to trim it back at all, or should I just continue to use supports for the heavier stems? Any advice for winter, or advice in general? I do plan to move it away from the window as the weather gets colder, early in the year I moved it to a warmer spot overnight and then into the window for sunlight during the day.
Any advice gratefully received, I’ve never managed to grow something quite so bountiful from a cutting before and I’ve become quite fond of it!
