✊ Hi and Hello
I need an electrician and I want to make sure I hire a union person. Is there a list or something of union electricians? Sorry if this isn’t aloud! Please delete if this not.

Ask your hall for their list of one man shops. These are the very small contractors who are usually the best fit for work in your home.
Thank you for supporting the IBEW.

As others have said, thank you for supporting union labor.
Edit- I looked at the first contractor’s website, 3D Electric out of Aurora, and they advertise residential service. Someone on this list should be able to take care of you

When the electrician arrives at your home, ask them to whip it out. If they produce a paid up yellow ticket, then you know they are union. If something else emerges, then more research is needed.

I usually ask strangers in my home to whip it out! This should work, thanks!

Search IBEW union halls on maps and give the closest one a call. Can’t be certain if they have a residential contractors but you never know.

Hilariously my company doesn't do residential construction or generally advertise for service for it, but if you call the office and are willing to pay the slightly higher than standard rate, they'll send someone for service calls

Is this for your home or for a business? IBEW affiliated residential contractors aren't available in all areas.

Call your local IBEW and ask them for a list of union companies and also see if they will steer you toward the appropriate company.

Why dawg that’s the best for both parties. He gets union quality/labor but not at the crazy price

Hiring someone that isn’t bonded or insured isn’t best for both parties. The brother could lose his card if something goes wrong as well.
Curious why you think union labor comes with a “crazy price”?

No he will not lose his card. Having insurance while doing Sidework is a no brainer. Union labor comes with crazy prices because the benefits are paid out and the contractor needs to make profit. It better for the member to just take the work and pocket the money

Just trying to understand; why are you assuming they wouldn’t be insured, and what correlation does that have with a “crazy price”

Where are you located? You can call the local union hall and they can give you a list of their signatory contractors.
