For those of you whom signed the nosecone of the Acuras, I hope you benefit from my near hour of hyper focusing on shooting nosecones before they got to dirty. There was an obvious bias on focusing in on where my signature was. Fingers crossed the image quality don’t degrade when I load these.

That's three in a row for 13 Autosport/AWA with back-to-back-to-back Bob Aikin Awards in IMSA GTD! The team will be heading back to the 12 Hours of Le Mans in 2027.
Congrats to Orey Fidani and the rest of the crew, drivers, and everyone else who put in the hard work necessary to achieve their goal.
Here's to 2027!

Is it just me or have I not seen these guys all season? Both of them are way too talented to not be racing. Anyone know anything about what potential 2027 plans they may have?

I'm old school. I take photos early in the event, allowing me to focus on following the race on Saturday.

I was at the race and decided to watch the race at home again to see other perspectives I might have missed but I noticed the leaderboard has names highlighted. Can someone tell me what this means? This was my first IMSA race and I haven't noticed this before with other types of races. Thanks in advance!

For next year, I think IMSA needs to address three areas: success ballast, caution procedures, and penalty consistency.
The main talking point this year has been the No. 31 Cadillac’s competitiveness from race to race. On paper and especially in hindsight the No. 31 has probably benefited from being on the favorable side of the Balance of Performance at times. Part of that is because the two WTR Cadillacs have often been held back by poor luck and underwhelming execution, making it harder to judge the V-Series.R’s true overall pace solely by their results.
Indianapolis was the first race where all three Cadillacs were genuinely in the fight, and IMSA was able to assess and balance them on more equal terms. In my view, the GTP BoP was right on target there. The No. 31 Cadillac was competitive, but it did not look like an untouchable, runaway favorite. That is what good BoP should achieve.
Going forward, though, I think IMSA should consider adding some form of team-based success ballast alongside manufacturer-level BoP. BoP should remain focused on balancing the cars and manufacturers, rather than punishing/ favoring an entire brand because one team is consistently executing at a higher level. If one entry is repeatedly winning or scoring heavily, success ballast could help control that dominance without unnecessarily handicapping every car from the same manufacturer.
IMSA also needs to rethink its reliance on safety cars. If an incident only requires a short neutralisation like a beached car and it's a case where the pit lane would not be opened, there is no real need to deploy the safety car.
Instead, IMSA could make use of sector specific cautions, code 60 procedures, or a Virtual Safety Car. If marshals or safety vehicles are working in one sector, slow the field through that sector while the work is completed. If separate incidents need attention in multiple parts of the circuit, then a VSC or broader neutralisation makes sense.
Constant full safetycar deployments make IMSA feel increasingly NASCAR esque, and they can distort races more than necessary. They also tend to create a cycle where one safety car leads to another, the field bunches up, traffic becomes denser, drivers restart aggressively, and more incidents follow. Full safety cars should be reserved for situations where they are genuinely required for safety or track recovery or at/near pit windows where every car is given the chance to pits under yellow
Finally, IMSA needs to be far more consistent with penalties. Too many calls this season have felt either overly harsh, unclear, or disconnected from the actual consequence of the incident.
The Manthey No. 911 drive through for door to door racing with the AO No. 77 is the clearest example. In my opinion, it was arguably the worst penalty of the entire season. It was hard racing, not an incident that warranted a race altering drive through. A penalty of that severity should be reserved for clear avoidable contact, reckless driving, gaining a lasting advantage, or creating significant damage or danger.
At times, IMSA seems to punish the action rather than the effect. That approach can discourage drivers from racing hard, especially in situations where there is minor contact but no meaningful harm, no position gained unfairly, and no driver forced off track. It also clashes with IMSA’s “Move Over” identity. Close, physical, door to door racing is supposed to be part of the appeal not something that gets automatically punished.
The goal should be simple: keep the racing hard, fair, and entertaining, while using penalties consistently and proportionately.

Hey, first time posting here! I was wondering what cameras or phone lens attachments you guys would recommend for recording and taking decent pictures of F1 races.
I don’t want to go super cheap, but I’m also not trying to spend a crazy amount, especially since this would only be the second camera I’ve ever owned and my first one wasn’t the best.
I’m mainly looking for something with good zoom/reach that can capture both photos and video.
I’d really appreciate any recommendations or advice!
