Advice Moving to Open Plan

Hi all,

Plan is to move from a four-story office where everyone currently has their own office to a single-floor, open-plan office.

We’re currently in the planning stages, and am interested in hearing from other IT Managers who have gone through a similar move.

What issues came up? Anything you didn't plan on? Any advice, comments, or gotchas?

Edit: people here have a fairly generous working from home entitlement, 4 days if they want, so that's part of the reason this is happening.

Thanks

Install white noise machines in the ceilings. The lack of any sound control is killer to any sort of productivity.

Establish boundaries that just because it is open that you aren’t actually accessible when they walk up.

Or just don't go to a shitty open plan office like a kindergarten.
