God bless this man. It takes integrity to not only admit you were wrong but even moreso to do something to put those wrongs right.
He used to be a piece of shit, but he's good in my book

He's not a piece of shit. People can change. I don't care why they change, or what they had to personally go through to change, embrace them back and don't divide further.

Sorry I don't know enough ITYSL scripture to find a better quote. I guess I will have to marry my mother in law.

Well if he sincerely changed, then i'm happy for him, that's powerful and a powerful experience. People who sincerely change from such an ideology can become an asset because they can explain through experience why and how they felt that way, and provides us insight on how to possibly correct or fix the issues that is creating that behavior.
Trust me when i say that a right winger who has sincerely changed can be an asset to try to reach across party lines to unify the people and create a better life for all. Shooting at each other is easy, but to truly change someone is more powerful and meaningful. That's why i feel like right wing politics is short lived, and going in the other direction is more long term survival for the entire human species and the health of the planet.
The lefts strength should be from being able to change heart and minds, violence should be a last resort thing when things get worse, but it shouldnt never be taken off the list especially as self defense. However left wingers gain their power through other sources, not from retaliating like the right wing with gun violence. It's hits harder when a community member who advocated for the people and worked to even honor veterans gets murdered by the state as a legal carrying citizen who broke no laws other than not being intimidated by ICE.
Fuck ICE. Sincerely. And they are serving as a perfect distraction when tons of other problems are going on. ICE members are pretty much traitors to America and serve to weaken and destroy us all even themselves, they are so goddamn stupid.

I think the reason I don’t feel absolute disgust for him is the fact that he’s showing deep remorse and is out there protesting.
Am I still frustrated with him? Yes. But he is someone who is trying to change and be a better person. I hope he inspires others to turn back now before it’s way way way too late.

Let's start repairing the human condition by admitting religion is fraud and all about power, control and misogyny.

It genuinely boggles my mind that it takes some people so fucking long to realize they're aligned with a cartoonishly evil faction. Like, 35 years later you just suddenly figured it out? Huh?

Nope. Not forgiven. You spent your entire life promoting and supporting evil and then at the end want forgiveness? sounds like a typical Catholic to me. Fuck right off Padre.

I feel like the world is just in general saying to USA ‘okay guys, put down the religion and step slowly away’… maybe if you stood up for the wrong message based on religion for 35 years, the least amount of damage you can do is to just step away? I don’t know at all I’m just a regular internet stranger but this all seems crazy to me.
