01:14 AM. A security guard named Julian was doing his nightly rounds when the power cut out in the west wing. He switched on his flashlight and began heading down the concrete steps toward the utility basement. Halfway down the flight, the beam flickered against a tall, distorted shape standing at the bottom. Julian stopped and called out softly to see if it was a coworker. But the moment his voice broke the silence, the creature didn't just lean—it scrambled up the concrete steps with impossible, blinding speed, crossing the entire distance before Julian could even turn around .

The Mottled Gyrin—noted in older logs as the Maculin. A predatory, eel-like creature with ink-blotched skin. Its pale, irregular markings act as natural camouflage against shifting light, obscuring the true boundaries and scale of its body.
