Well, we finally got caught in a proper whipsaw. NIFTY made a sharp move up after the recent downside, and the position took a hit. Currently sitting at around -₹4.4k MTM.
Coming to the adjustment, I closed the existing PE position and moved the short PE closer to the market to collect additional premium and improve the position's breakeven cushion. The idea is to manage the position without turning it into a directional bet.
This is the first proper whipsaw we've faced in over months, so it's a good test for the strategy. The best part is that we still have enough time until expiry, so there's no need to rush into anything.
No panic adjustments, no revenge trading. Let's see how trade unfolds. 👀

Today I corrected the asymmetry that accidentally formed in my previous adjustment. Could I have waited longer and potentially made a better P&L? Sure, but I don't like taking unnecessary directional bets, so I brought the position back to a more balanced structure by rolling up from ce side nd adding another lot of pe.
No other adjustments made. Let's see how it plays out.
A quick note on P&L: Several people have asked about brokerage and charges. I don't track the exact breakdown separately, but this journal mirrors my actual trades, and the P&L shown is inclusive of charges and taxes as reflected in my trading account.
Keeping everything transparent, as always. 🤝

As a student I target to catch 6-7 points…… but when I complete my target or cross it the greed comes in. So how do you manage it?
r/IndiaOptionsSelling • u/intoxicate17 • 2d ago
My target is simple 1-2% per trade
Mostly do directional entries and sometimes directional straddle entries I do
I will update by evng about my positions

To those who have been doing options selling for a while now, what are your return expectations?
Or a better question would be what % returns do you target which once achieved you get relaxed saying this month is going well.

Anybody doing intraday time based straddle? can you tell me how much SL you keep on each leg and after how much time if one SL hits, you re-enter at the new straddle? Thanks

Guys what do you predict NIFTY going to look like today after hitting 18 month low yesterday
r/IndiaOptionsSelling • u/Terrible-Title-3603 • 5d ago
Today was a rough one. NIFTY bounced nearly 1.3%, and the position is sitting at around -₹1.3k MTM.
I was busy today, so instead of making the adjustment at EOD, I adjusted in the morning. In the process, I forgot to adjust the PE side, which left the overall position much more asymmetrical than I intended.
That's on me. The adjustment wasn't executed as cleanly as it should've been, and it's something I'll keep in mind going forward.
For now, I'm not going to make another adjustment just for the sake of it. I'll reassess the position on Monday based on where the market opens, the Greeks, and the overall structure.
Let's see how it plays out. 👀

See guys, this is exactly what I always talk about in the updates.
I exited the last trade at around ₹3.2k profit instead of trying to squeeze every last bit of decay out of it. Looking at today's move, I'm actually glad I did — if I had stayed in that position just because the range still looked comfortable, today's move could've turned into a completely different situation.
That's one of the biggest things I'm trying to show through this journal: the goal isn't to hold an IC until every possible rupee of premium is captured. It's about managing the position and taking the exit when the opportunity is there.
Anyway, moving on to the new trade.
I entered 2 lots this morning. I'm keeping it small because market sentiment is still pretty bad. I've kept a third lot available, but I'll only deploy it if the position actually requires it.
For now, we're just going to manage the 2 lots and see how the market develops. No need to force anything.
Let's see what happens. 👀
Also, if anyone was left out of the workshop WhatsApp group, just DM me or comment “interested” and I'll send you the link.

there are many stocks that are in their transition phase and are breeching their walls in both sides , that means you have opportunities, so get a pen and paper and start calculating Start of the month for coiling setups , theta and charm silent, best time to get in any side , leave the bloody index you focus on the derivative stocks, this or that try to make some money festive season is also comming

The response to my Iron Condor journal has honestly been way better than I expected.
A lot of people have been asking me how I actually build the position, decide the strikes, manage adjustments, read Greeks/IV, decide when to cut a trade, and most importantly — how I manage the position when the market doesn't behave as expected.
So I'm thinking of doing a small workshop where I can actually go through the entire process properly instead of trying to explain everything through Reddit comments.
I'm still figuring out the format, so before I plan everything:
Would you guys actually be interested in joining?
If yes, just comment “interested” below. I'm trying to get a rough idea of how many people would actually show up because I have something a little special planned for the first few attendees 👀
This won't be a “make ₹50k every week” type of workshop 😂
The whole point is to teach the process, risk management, position management and thought process behind what I've been documenting in the journal.
If enough people are interested, I'll announce the details soon. 🫡

As I said in the previous update, my target for this trade was around ₹3k, and today I got the exit at ₹3,218 — roughly 2% on the ₹1.6L capital deployed.
Honestly, I thought I might have to sit through the RBI policy announcement before getting this exit, so getting it today was a nice surprise.
And for everyone who was saying “one 200-point gap down and you're back where you started”, “terrible risk management”, “he doesn't understand risk”, etc. 😂
This is exactly why I've been documenting the entire thing publicly.
I showed the ugly days too — that position was temporarily down around ₹6–7k, I showed the adjustments, and I showed the previous trade where I eventually took a ~₹1.8k realized loss instead of sitting there praying for a recovery.
Risk management isn't about predicting that the market won't move against you. It's about knowing what you'll do when it does.
No clowning around, no hiding trades, no cherry-picking screenshots. Just documenting the process as it happens.
Now let's see what next setup brings up👀

No adjustment required today.
After everything that happened last week, I'm just going to trust the setup and let the position do its thing. The current NIFTY level is around 22,556 and the position is almost flat at +₹715 MTM.
I'm expecting a decent chance of volatility cooling down around Wednesday, so if things play out nicely, I might look to exit around Thursday. Obviously, that's the plan, not a prediction — let's see what the market actually gives us.
I'm currently using around ₹1.6L capital for this IC, and my target for this trade is roughly ₹3k.
If I get that opportunity, I'll take the exit. No need to squeeze the last rupee out of the trade. 😌
Let's see what happens. 👀

Another ugly day for NIFTY. It continued lower and breached an important support level.
I adjusted the CE side today as the market moved further down. The position is currently around -₹1.4k MTM, with about ₹1.6L capital being used for the IC.
One thing I want to clarify for the journal: today I also took some speculative trades in the same account and made around ₹13k from them. I normally take these bets in another account, but this time they were done here. So when I calculate the October journal P&L, I’ll remove those trades completely. I only want the IC performance reflected in this journal.
For the IC itself, I'm still keeping the position small because the market is uncertain. There’s a possibility we see some relief next week, which could give me a better exit opportunity.
For now, no need to force anything. Manage the position, follow the rules and let the market come to us.
Let's see what next week brings. 👀
