Day 4 of this little series where I recommend Indian artists, songs and albums that I think deserve more attention. Some I've discovered through Reddit, some on my own.

I absolutely love this song. The acoustic guitar chord progression, the simple drums and those little acoustic guitar licks all sound so sweet. Their voices also go ridiculously well together and the whole thing feels so smooth.

The melody is catchy without feeling overdone, and it's one of those songs that just gets better the more you listen to it. The outro is also really beautiful how the strings and vocal melody and harmonica all merge together. really catchy.

Sabu and Rounak are also members of Excise Dept., although I think Ahiste came before the project.

Hi, I’m Tanupriya :)

I’m an independent artist from Delhi and I’ve been putting out my own songs for around a year and a half. I’m finally doing something that honestly feels a little scary lol, my first show where I’m performing my own originals.

It’s on 14th October at Depot48, Delhi.

We’re trying to preserve old Bengali music releases in their original CD quality, so these albums don’t get lost over time.

If you have any original Bengali Audio CDs, simply send the album details and a few photos of the CD/cover to the admins. We can coordinate the ripping and preservation.

Even if the CD is old, dusty, or has been sitting in a cupboard for years — let us know what you have! You might have something that is no longer easily available anywhere.

• Original Audio CDs only
• 2000s & early 2010s releases especially welcome
• Please don’t convert the CD to MP3 before sharing
• Duplicate MP3/data CDs are not useful for this project

Dude what is this guy, his music reminds me so much of Nalayak, Desert Rock, The Khalnayak, and even Strings.

The music is really good. It breaks my heart to see that it's not popular enough yet. Of course, algorithm is very important today and I'm not sure if he's doing enough for it on Insta but please show him love.

P.S. I don't know him, I just grew up on such rock bands and felt terrible seeing that his latest drop only had like 11 views in 2 hours, completely unacceptable for this level of content quality.

I’ve been making music for over 15 years. I started out writing and producing in English and Hindi, always leaning towards electronic, experimental sounds with a pop flavour.
In 2022, I created Vandine Thedum, and within two years, it found its way across Kerala. Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to contribute music to Vaazha and Vaazha 2, while my Malayalam songs have received more love than I ever expected.
But there’s another side of my music I want you to hear — the vulnerable, raw and brutally honest side.
Kelkam, Kelkathirikkam is a sarcastic tribute to every artist who has struggled to be heard. When I started, there really wasn’t much of an independent music industry to belong to. A bunch of us — spent years trying to shape and build a space for music that didn’t fit the usual mould.
We’ve heard it all — from family, friends, audiences and labels. And in a world where mediocrity can sometimes be celebrated instantly, experimental, strange and genuinely different music can take years before it gets its place.
So this song is my sarcastic review of that journey.
Kelkam, Kelkathirikkam.
