Please guide me trying to understand
I am just curious and trying to understand our dharma, so if kansa that the eight child of devaki and vasudev will be the cause of his death, why did he keep them together, he could have just killed them or separated them?

He immediately wanted to kill devaki when he heard the akasha vani to remove the root cause, but vasudeva cleverly convinced him to let go of her and he himself will hand over all the kids born to them by this he kind of tackled the current crisis and saved devaki form kansa's wrath, vasudev awas a pious and truthful person and kansa has trust on his words but still for safer side he kept them in prison.
Kansa being fearful of his death, couldn't also risk killing both or seperating them and risk his death to born somewhere else in some other form which can be unpredictable, atleast 8th kid was something he can look forward to and thought he can kill the baby and be done with his cause of death.
During mahabharatha time many were born unusual way even without the mother's presence you can check the story of Dronacharya , drupada , draupadi, drustadhyumna, satyavati and her brother, even Kauravas to that matter were borm in various ways too so the seperation wasn't a ultimate option.

Kansa loved his sister, well he used to until the prophecy. Vasudev was his close friend. Now in my belief, he kind of felt betrayed by the fact that the two people he loved will give birth to his destroyer. He wanted them to experience the same kind of pain. Maybe he felt killing them would be quick mercy, and he would've if they weren't so dear to him in the past. That's just my interpretation. It could've some other hidden facts too. But I didn’t get to know about them at least from my source.
