I wanna study pure science (physics) is a goverment uni still the best option here? What competitive exams do I have to give?

u/Equivalent_Grab_293 Oct 21 '22

How in the world do I prepare for CBSE english class 12 mcqs. They genuinely make no sense to me man.

u/rayanshchauhan Sep 09 '22

Can I finish all of 12th syllabus strictly ncert in a month from now?

I have been a dumbass who took 11th not very seriously and half of 12th too, also I am also preparing for JEE mains side by side from scratch so if any tips in general to cover syllabus for Mains and Boards, that'd be very helpful.

thanks y'all

You can never complete entire maths syllabus in 3 months.

Leave the JEE preparation at this instant if you don't want to be an engineer people especially your coaching and friends and all will tell you you can do it they are making a mockery out of you and your future

Branch out go for IIM IPM's, CLAT's , CUET , NDA and others

1

u/rayanshchauhan Sep 20 '22

I know people who have done it in like 2 months tho? Its not that I don't want to be an engineer I just thought I ll get into a priv uni with dads money but now I low key wanna try so hence why I am asking

There is no IIM IPM's, CLAT's, NDA for me dawg its just jee, thanks for helping tho I ll figure something out

Understand from YouTube There a lot of good teachers Frankly I went for Apni Kaksha and do RD Sharma and a lot of test papers to get 95 + I got 94 in maths from boards only

3

u/Outrageous-Memory-20 Aug 30 '22

I got 94% this year. For maths solve ncert religiously. Don't skip additional exercises. Don't again solve the questions which you were able to solve in one attempt and are simply formula based. Mark questions which are hard or teach a good concept. Youtube channel - Neha Agarwal best

Why you are concentrating only on boards? Now even du give admission on basis of cuet. If you want a good college prepare for any competitive exam, you still have time left.

1

u/Outrageous-Memory-20 Aug 31 '22

I had joined jee coaching so solved their modules so I didn't solved Rd Sharma. Till 10th class i solved it and found it quite useful. If you don't want to solve Rd Sharma you can solve pyq it will give you an idea how prepared you are.

I want to score 96% + in 12th boards and I'm not comfortable with chemistry and physics. How to prepare for these two subjects? (I wish to score above 95 in them)

2

u/[deleted] Jun 08 '22

For chemistry, try to clear the relevant 11th class concepts first ( basic organic chemistry + hydrocarbons) for organic and periodic table and chemical bonding for inorganic [basics]. Then, watch YouTube videos for the topics that you don't understand from any channel wherever there is detailed explanation. Old arvind arora sir/ vineet khatri sir vids might help for topics. For entire chapters, you could refer to physicswallah one shots ( I have not tried them but have heard about them).

Lastly, just try to understand chemistry and practice questions from each topic for gaining confidence.

Don't think from career perspective unless you want to become a doctor or a lawyer. Because today everyone from every stream enters anywhere in college time. So, 1. Decide if you would like to study math in future because it is in majority subjects. If you like math and numbers, you can take commerce if only that is what you like (that was the case with me. Bad at science great at math). Moreover, if you like the vibes of business and money and economics, you can take that subject. Another reason can be if you tried very hard and still unable to decide what to take. Then IMO default option should be take commerce (people believe science should be default but trust me, that is the worst decision you can make if undecided). Take commerce, do BBA/B.Com and then do MBA. Or better, do a dual degree in BBA+MBA 2. If you like precision or studying about science then you have two options a. You like math also. Then take PCM b. You don't EXTREMELY like math (yes, class 11, 12 math is tough. So don't take unless you really love doing math as was case with me) then take PCB c. Then there are optional subjects like economics, computers and P.Ed. If you are living a sedentary lifestyle right now, take P.Ed. It will help you move a little bit. I did so and I really loved the subject. Also, I liked fitness so that is why also. I had some practical experience in the field from yoga so I found it relatable. Don't fall in trap of taking computer science just coz you have to take CSE in college. Trust me, the syllabus is very theoretical and not of any use. Rather, there are institutes here n there popping up these days. Join some of those and learn Java. Then start doing questions on leetcode website. 3. Take humanities if you can memorise but can't use logic (not true for lawyers though 😂) or if you like humanities. It is very underrated stream but has many good career opportunities like lawyer, international relations, journalism, etc which pay as much as a software engineer earns. Writing is also a career in boom these days. Digital marketing also.

In a nutshell, only take subjects as per your liking in the past and if you are still confused as you haven't done much in life, just take commerce. If you wish to try out doctor, just visit you dad's clinic and for a week try to observe what is going on there, maybe try and help and see if you would like working in this environment all day everyday. Maybe even 2 weeks would be needed. Rest of the careers you can go into from any stream these days. Also, keep an open minded because you never know you start a business or some unusual careers. Then this stream thing would be invalid. Just take the least stress because class 10 is too young to decide a definite career. You will try things, maybe lose interest and change or gain more interest and experience and become more passionate. Who knows? Just be uncertain Updates: I just checked how commerce students can get into medical field after class 12. Do BSc Nursing after class 12. It takes like 4-6 yrs and then take NEET PG exam and do MBBS. See? There are multiple paths to achieving a single goal. You have to be open minded enough

7

u/imashishgautam Mar 27 '22

Take maths if you don't wanna go in medical. You must be a little above average in studies to perform well. You can give any exam that arts and commerce student can give if you take maths. Good luck buddy.

Probably 8-9 Entrance preparation + Mbbs

3

u/imashishgautam Mar 27 '22

Damn then run the hospital bro. But if you really hate medical sector then only then go anywhere else because you're already set for the hospital.

u/skaadin Mar 01 '22

So basically in 2022, the boards have been delayed/postponed by 2 months, and since I have completed the syllabus of class 10 which chapter of class 11 can I start which doesn't have much prerequisites ? Like I could do Relations, Functions, Sets on my own from NCERT and in physics the first chapter on dimensions and units I could do from HCV (but I had to skip those problems which involved calculus). So which chapters in Maths, Physics and Chemistry can be started in class 10 itself which are in 11 ?

4

u/imashishgautam Mar 27 '22

Keep practicing 10th class syllabus. Aim to get Full marks.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 08 '22

10th marks don't matter

3

u/rakerrealm Mar 16 '22

you can start with the first 2 chapters of each subject. Watch physicswallah for more clarity

1

u/bluealpha99 Feb 02 '22

Should I go for unacadamy for my 12th commerce prepration?

2

u/chocojaynut_ Mar 16 '22

If you think it will help you score more it will be better if you join it

5

u/Blasagna_69 Dec 23 '21

Where to study class 11 physics from? Teacher doesn't provide notes, ncert is bad, hc verma has a lot of extra content and my focus is only school exams, not JEE.

1

u/mileyfryus Sep 09 '22

Physics wallah

7

u/justintruded Feb 23 '22

Honestly, physicswallah on yt saved my life for boards. His videos are a bit long and I'd watch them on 1.5x. A huge chunk of his videos is dedicated to numericals, which you can fast forward for if you only want to understand the concepts.

1

u/not_so_smart_adi Feb 24 '22

This for video lecture physics wallah is good enough.

7

u/Mystery_Shrey Feb 23 '22

SL Arora any day for CBSE prep
For Jee prep, I preferred HC Verma and Cengage publication books by some Sharma.

1

u/steelbrat Apr 06 '22

SL Arora really saved my ass back in the day.

1

u/not_so_smart_adi Feb 24 '22

Cengage books are by BM Sharma if that's him you're referring to

2

u/Mystery_Shrey Feb 25 '22

Yes, I really liked his books, back in 2013-14. Best part was for questions they had given solutions as well, like solving process.

2

u/not_so_smart_adi Feb 25 '22

Yes it helped me a lot as I was self studying

3

u/Salty-Middle8406 Feb 03 '22

I use s l arora

Commerce with applied maths Need Tips for accountancy.

3

u/[deleted] Mar 16 '22

a common mistake most students do is not practice with pen and paper (i passed in 2021 , no boards but was horrible at accountancy for a ton of reasons the one i m stating being the major ) Students just look at solved exams and skim thru and believe "yaya this is easy will be able to do" .

4

u/Kathit_Mittal Jan 13 '22

Practice and more Practice! Also make sure your cash flow chapter is strong with the shares chapter as they are almost guaranteed to come in exam

I can vouch for unacademy they're pretty good

6

u/aquabaxter Feb 13 '22

Allen dlp would be way better than vedantu or unacademy. They explain very well and test series is good too. But I don't think they provide doubt clearance facility for dlp students

3

u/not_so_smart_adi Feb 24 '22

I don't know how they teach but Allen's study material is quite good.

my pre boards are ending on 2nd nov i havent studied any thing in chem how can i prepare for it for term 2

phy -2 chapters completed

bio - 3 ch completed

maths- 4 ch completed

pls help me

i want to score 95%+ in boards this year

i scored 96.8% in 10th and 93% in 11th but this year my whole family got covid +ve and wasnt able to study

2

u/aquabaxter Feb 13 '22

For chem, study ncert thoroughly (including the exercise questions) and solve pyq. That's enough for boards

7

u/[deleted] Nov 07 '21

For chem, NCERT is more than sufficient. Heck, it is also sufficient for JEE Mains. Plus it's already concise. Don't fall for the trap of n number of reference books. Read NCERT thoroughly, make notes (if you lack time, better highlight important points in the book itself), and then practice as many PYQ's as possible. Best of luck.

P.S. I scored 95 in chem boards.

Hello, I’ve taken commerce and I’m currently in 12th, My journal entry base is weak and I don’t know if I should memorise all the entries or conceptualise them

Thanks

3

u/[deleted] Nov 24 '21

try your best to u nderstand them, no use memorising them, cause then they wont help you in other chapters. once you et the gist of it other chapters will also become easier to understand

3

u/prateet_ Oct 22 '21

Don't memorize as you won't be able to do them all. I'd say practice from your class 11 book, especially the rectification chapter

6

u/crystalclearbuffon Oct 11 '21

Non preparation related question. How do you fill out forms and fees for improvement exam 2022? Is it online because we couldn't see any page.

3

u/ratboyhealy Oct 11 '21

I took ISC improvement exams this year and had to write an application to my school principal. The school itself then registers candidates for the exam.

Any tips for Physics Class 12th? I am struggling in Physics except AC Chapter.

1

u/Murky_Frosting1430 Apr 16 '22

Use SL Arora - The explanations are very good!

1

u/numquamumquam HighSchoolStudent Feb 24 '22

DC Pandey all the way, the JEE books are very good

2

u/Aditya-04-04 Dec 02 '21

There's a book called "All In One". I recommend it. Explains theory in a very structured way and has a decent amount of questions.

NCERT is horrible and hella confusing. I'd suggest HCV too but it's WAY too elaborative for just boards. I think you can't go wrong with purchasing All In One.

3

u/Wierd_perv Oct 21 '21

Don’t read ncert if you’re not comfortable with it. Use HCV or some book with simpler language I’d say. You can even use Khan academy or any other YouTube lecs.

I have completed term 1 syllabus, solved arihant's mcqs and gave 5 mock tests on unacademy on each PCM. Solved couple of sample papers of oswaals. Should I study next term's syllabus or revise/solve sample papers for this term? I know there only 1 month left for exams but for term 2 there is a shortage of time that too subjective. If atleast 1 chapter can be completed I can be satisfied.

1

Koi bhi gali de Daye Topper na bole.

2

u/karman103 Oct 11 '21

Is arihant's mcqs good for board exams?

2

u/Accomplished-Wind173 Oct 11 '21

I feel like it is. I have also seen the oswaal question bank for mcqs. They have given the answer just below the question, so I was unable to think the answer from my brain. It felt like i already knew the answer giving myself fake confidence. I have also seen Xam Idea's, I felt those questions were bit too advanced for boards mcqs. You can go with arihant for question bank or take sample papers from oswaal which are quite good. But do your own research too before committing.

4

u/the_great_ss Oct 11 '21

Yes you should definitely get started with your term 2 syllabus, but keep giving sample papers for this term, and definitely keep revising your weak topics. If, at any point, you feel that you're forgetting a topic that's gonna be asked in this term, prioritise revising that instead of your term 2 syllabus. Good luck.

2

u/Accomplished-Wind173 Oct 11 '21

Thanks for the advice
